Ok,honest opinion on the setting, its lovely and beautifully made, but I agree its a bit on the high side.Unfortunately looking at where all the prongs meet at the bottom there is not much room to drop the stone down that much. The claws have big 'fins' at the bottom as they meet the shank, but thats where all there strength is coming from as there is no underrail. You may find you would have to completely change the whole shebang. But if you find a style you like and suits you better,a good goldsmith can take the dimensions of your stone make the setting give you a call and be able to swap it over within an hour, you could go for a coffee while your waiting. When mine was swapped over that was exactly the procedure for mine except the goldsmith was where I worked and I was allowed to sit and watch him,it was fascinating!!!! And in reality took less than 20 minutes, but I know goldsmiths don't like to feel rushed when they're dealing with stones the size of yours. xxxxxx

YEAH SWANKY!! :yahoo:It's absolutely GORGEOUS and looks incredible on you! And don't worry about you thinking it's too big. The longer you wear it (doesn't matter how large) it starts to seem smaller! I don't know how that happens! :shrugs:

Hahahaha!! THAT is just so true!!! When I first got mine I thought it was a boulder!!! Now it looks more 'discreet' shall I say !!!! lol!!!!!!

Oohh, I have to add, I read your post about the prongs (which I know 0 about) and the post about not wanting to show it off, and I feel it is my duty to tell you...

SHOW THAT SUCKER OFF.

You owe it to the world! Wow, I am still amazed by it!!

^LOL Biloxi!

Chaz, the height and base of the prongs is what I was talking about, looking thick-ish and overly substantial. . . I'm going to browse a little and see if I can't find exactly what I had in mind. Have you seen Leon Mege's {Art of Platinum} designs? His are pretty impressive. Maybe after letting DH have a month w/o me asking for anything:angel: I can start sliding photos of some of his more basic setting in front of him!

Thanks you guys for your sweet notes:love:
