Swanky~OMG, how did I miss this thread:wtf: Your diamond is stunning, blinding and very, very big!! It looks great on your hand. You must be beyond thrilled. I am so happy for you...except for the part that is sooooo jealous;) Leon has a very plain, but elegant solitaire setting. I'll see if I can find it.

thanks you guys!:love

OOO,couple of tips for you then,if you want them that is!!! When I photograph diamonds its quite hard not too get too much glare on them, they sparkle, but it comes out as blurs instead of bright little pinpoints. And if you take a pic where the light is too intense,it makes the reflections inside look a bit weird.

Best thing I found is put a couple of chopsticks through the shank or a knife handle or something, anything that will make it stand upright and keep both hands free, you can move about a little then and decide which angle the light looks best, instead of trying to get your hands, camera and ring all in the right place at the right time!!!

Next thing, pick a really sunny windowsill and sellotape a peice of white photocopier paper to the window, put the ring on the window sill in front of it and you get a beautiful diffuse lighting that shows every detail without you fighting glare!!!

Neighbours might think you are a bit weird, but hey!!! (give your stone a good wash first too,if you use macro on your camera it shows up EVERY damn thing!!)

( and yeh,I think I might see if he will ship over here and get him to re-set mine and my diamond studs in the martini setting, just too fabulous!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

LOL...You are "required" to post in Show Me The Ring and hand shots are a must:graucho:
Just keep practicing and you'll be ready for your close-up! I tried to post a pic of the Leon solitaire, but I couldn't capture it. I don't understand how everyone else is getting those pics to post:shrugs:

Definately a requirement now, hand shot to fully show the size of that boulder, just fabulous!!! I'm with Risingsun on that one!!!!

LOL!
Sun, I right click just in front of his photos and drag my mouse across it to highlight it, then I click CTRL & C at the same time to copy it, then I press CTRL V to paste it in where I want it.

I got a few better photos:D
My camera doesn't love dark settings or uber close ups. I'm a pretty decent photographer and know how to work it, but have the unfortunate luck of having a camera that likes bright settings w/ objects about 3 feet away! LOL!
My macro photos aren't postable.

Swanky that ring looks to die for. I am shopping for my engagement ring now I would love to have that ring. My darling Fiance thinks that anything over 2 carats is too big to wear in Athens, actually he think over 1 carat but I am orginal New York girl so I can't have anything less than 2. I actually wanted 3 so that's my compromise 2. Maybe someday I can upgrade to your ring. Anyway your ring is gorgeous and Leon does really really nice work. I have seen a few rings on Price Scope by him and they are to die for. The one thing that I don't like about him is his prices they seem a little high but I guess that's what you pay for the best. Merry Christmas.
