Hi!!! I just bought my very first new from store LV item while I was on vacation. I’m home now and I was looking at the monogram today and I noticed some of the spots on the pattern look crisper than others at different angles . So looking at the item directly, some of the serifs on the V look blurry. But when I tilt it, it clears . Is this just how the printing on canvas is supposed to behave ? I’m just not sure if this is an imperfection or just the nature of the monogram canvas and how everyone’s is. Am trying to attach photos . Of two different spots on the bag in different angles so you can see the difference . Thanks in advance !!! I’m far from a LV store so I am hoping this is normal and someone can put my mind at ease :) thank you !!!!

It's not super clear, sunlight might work much better, also phones usually struggle with close-up shots. But in reality the Monogram is not razor-sharp by design, since it is made up of waves that are made up of dots.

Good morning! I’m looking for a bit of advice please - I bought this bumbag in Paris in Nov 23 but have only worn it once or twice. Decided to send it to a consignment store but when taking the photos I noticed a couple of things.
First is that the top left corner has caved in - honestly idk if it was like that when I bought it as I have really used it or looked at it! I would have expected to notice but who knows.
The second is a tiny white mark - which I (misguidedly) tried to rub off with a wipe and now the top layer of the canvas is peeling. I have no idea what the white mark is, it looks like paint but who knows how it would have got there.

Does anyone have experience with returning/exchanging items for quality issues (top corner), or any experience with the peeling monogram canvas?

Thanks in advance!

If you push the corner out from the inside, it doesn't stay like that? Looks unusual, but doesn't feel look an irreversible structural issue.

The white spot on the other hand. I have no idea what it can be — the photos are very burnt-in, too much contrast from the sharp light. Is that smaller one right by the piping also the same?

The bad part is the canvas, it's cooked now. They won't touch it, unless you have a very very close SA who would take it in for an exchange, I wouldn't have high hopes with Vuitton Repair in general.

There was an issue with this around 2015-2017. I haven't seen it since. At that time, LV took the bags back and gave a credit. The fact that you rubbed it to remove a stain might be a problem as it seems you could have damaged the finish and in that case it is not a flaw in manufacturing.

Maybe this photo shows it better? It looks like paint to me but goodness knows where it came from. What is odd is that now the top layer of canvas is gone, the white mark is still just as bright, so it wasn’t on the top layer. Yes the smaller spot is the same.

No such relationship I’m afraid! I guess the good news is it’s a bag I don’t love… but still frustrating. Lesson learned!

With the corner, when I push it out it falls straight back in. It’s like the zipper was sewed on too tight and hasn’t left enough room for that corner to sit normally.

Appreciate your reply.IMG_0094.webp

Thanks for your reply. This one is from 2023, and I don’t think it was peeling until I decided to try and clean it… expensive lesson learned!!

Thank you!!! Have attached some new pics taken in sunlight . First pic is straight on and then when I tilt it, the serif of the right V seems to get more crisp. Your initial response has helped me though as you say this is normal ? Let me know what you think after seeing these ….thank you from a new LV owner :)

Very unusual. What makes it especially puzzling, that there should be like no white paint nearby when they manufacture these. The base PVC is brown, the motifs are printed on with this yellowish colour, and you are right, this spot had to go there before they applied the protective top plastic layer. Very unusual. Knowing this that this is literally build-into the canvas somehow and it was below the final layer (that they applied), then it must had been there before. That is a good argument for an exchange. I don't know what kinda wipe you used, but if it was just a normal baby-wipe, that should not be able to cause this no matter what. So maybe the white spot also contributed to the weakness. I'd try to ask them.

I digged mine out, exactly the same, enjoy your bag :)

I bought a pre-loved Catogram speedy this year. While it seemed in good condition then, (leather handles indicated it was barely worn) the printed outer layer seems to already be wrinkling and even peeling in some parts!

I live in a country with a humid tropical climate, but I store it in a dustbag, stuffed and with a bag organizer too.

Unfortunately LV has said they're unable to fix this as it's a limited edition and they no longer have the material. Has anyone had similar experience with LV's printed designs and any advice on fixing?View attachment 6155408View attachment 6155409
I have this bag but haven't had this issue - I'd send it to a person who paints bags to touch up. The ones I've seen do work that is indistinguishable.

Looks like paint ( the white thing), possibly hit a wall or side of a car?

Hi all, just to update - took this into store. As expected, they can’t do anything about the white mark, and of course said I shouldn’t have tried to clean it with anything as baby wipes can have oils in them which ruin the bags.
Regarding the corner, they basically said it’s not a quality issue and therefore they won’t do anything about it. They did agree it shouldn’t be folding in, however they advised me I must have stored it incorrectly to cause it to do that.

Annoying, but not surprising! Thanks for your replies etc.
