Hi all. Sorry for reposting because my original post in the LV 2024 thread only got 1 response and I'd like a few more opinions on this if possible.

One of the handles on my new Pink Opale Speedy 20 is slanted. You can see the picture where the handle sits upright. Is this common? Or is this a defect and therefore I should exchange for a new one? I'm fretting so much because 1) everything else with the bag is perfect and 2) I hate bothering SAs. It's my first LV bag so would love some pointers. Thanks in advance!

This would drive me insane. The handles are clearly sewn crooked as hell. I would try and see if they can exchange this for one with better quality control!

I don't know how soft these handles are. If this was a VVN Speedy, I'd recommend you to just use it and it will bend back to normal in less than a week. If it was a rigid Épi handle, I'd take it back immediately, those are less likely to go back to normal even if the bag is stuffed and heavy.

Hi all, not sure where else to post this - does anyone have any experience with their leather “lifting”? My side trunk flap just started to separate from the suede lining..the glue is also exposed now:annoyed: My biggest concern is this is going to get worse and more noticeable. It’s just a bag but I’m annoyed

I added the Millesime side trunk back in January after a lot of hassle - took a while for my SA to track one down without scuffs/marks. I absolutely love this leather and it’s one of my favorite bags. Normally if I had a quality issue like this I would exchange. Sadly that is not an option since there’s none left, my only options are store credit… or repair.

I guess I’m looking for advice or to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Would you deal with the hassle of a repair(read some horror stories here) or call it a day and take store credit?

Thank you for reading my mini rant

The fact that this isn’t even stitched all the way through is ridiculous for the price.

I just picked up my LV Palk Macassar Backpack from the boutique after getting the bottom piping replaced @ $390. I received the bag with several wrinkles in the canvas (back side, near the replaced piping) that weren't there prior to the repair.

My SA said that it should even out, and to carry it around with something heavy in it to stretch the canvas faster.

Obviously I am not thrilled to have the bag returned with the canvas worse off than before I repaired it. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what I should do to fix the issue, or should I go back to the store and ask for it to be re-repaired?

An update for everyone who was following along – I brought the bag back to the store and my CA (who has consistently been awesome in helping me deal with issues like this) instantly said that they needed to redo the repair. A few weeks later, he told me that they wouldn't be able to repair it up to standards, and since they don't make the Palk anymore, gave me a credit for the full value of the bag at the time of purchase + the repair fee. I treated myself to a brand new Avenue backpack and couldn't be happier with it :)

Thank you for the update, so glad they were able to resolve this for you, enjoy your new bag!

I’ve recently received this as a gift and we are wondering if the stamping is slightly slanted/off centre.
Well... I did measure it, the A is slightly lower than the dot and the H, which is weird, since their letters are set in solid copper and have same size. Also the complete monogram is a little to the left.
I am always a little hesitant when criticising hot stamps, since it is a "hand-made" service. They are very hard to get perfect and will always have some natural variation. I drew an example where it feels perfectly centered, but it uses a visual trick. The dot is right above the R sign, this way the monogram feels centered, even though the A is smaller than the H and also has much more negative space to the left. But to get the dot perfectly there manually is almost impossible. This is why I recommend dots only for 3 letters.
To be honest, it doesn't look awful, it is just not totally perfect. You can bring it back to the store and ask them, but unless it was a webshop purchase, then they surely showed it to the client to get an approval before packing it up. That makes it a final sale. Also if you are very lucky and they give you a new wallet (VERY unlikely), then they'll refuse to stamp again and you'll have an empty wallet.

Hi all, I was using my key pouch today and a piece of long sticky plastic (2nd photo) came out from inside, under one side of the zip. I’ve checked the other side and it was still somehow there but has sign of falling off soon. Is this normal?

It's not common, but also not the end of the world. They use these double sided tapes to stick the zipper to the leather to keep it in place while doing the stitching. I wouldn't worry about it much.

Thanks Bull!

Do you know why they left it there after stitching? And do all or most of key pouches have this?

I'll check our pouch tomorrow, but I wouldn't be surprised if that also had this inside, but deeper, closer to the stitching. These tapes are very common in leatherwork, ideally the stiches should go right in the middle of them. That way only one side is "hanging out", so it is almost impossible to notice.

Is it normal for the victorine wallet in leather to shift a lot from side to side easily? The wallet seems very loose, for lack of a better term. Without anything inside it moves easily from side to side and seems like it won't retain a good shape.
