I was giving my NeoNoe BB a wipe when I noticed these stitches on the side - are they normal? I’ve only had it for about 2 years and haven’t really been wearing it much.
The outer stitch looks like the Epi leather is peeling.

I am not sure, but from the looks of it, the stitching (sewn part) was too tight that resulted in peeling. My nano speedy (though not epi) is worse than yours, but I have come to accept its flaws.

I don't know the reason, but the stitching holes are VERY pronounced on most Neo Noés on this part. But this, this just looks a horribly sloppy job on top of that. Also the V-stitch on the red leather is not centered at all. I would not call that acceptable. Really don't know how these can slip through quality control. This is Louis Vuitton, not Zara.
And this is a part where use had 0 effect on the condition of the holes. Physically impossible to tear them like that. The owner has no control over this, this is pure manufacturing.
I truly believe that this thing looked exactly like this the day you bought it. If I were an SA, I would act very embarassed and would swap it out without question.
And I don't consider this 'magnifying glass' nitpicking. This screams.

Thanks Bull. I bought this from the boutique but it was 2 years ago, do you think they will let me exchange? I've never exchanged anything in LV before so I'm a bit nervous thinking about it and also not sure what the process is.... do you think they will recognise it as a defect? or would they take it away for repairs and charge me for it?

Hi, everyone! So thankful this thread exists!

I just picked up a Capucines from the store that I ordered online. There is a spot where the pink glaze has bled into the black portion of the bag. Is that type of blemish normal? Do you think it's worth returning and trying my luck with another one? Will the store give me a hard time if I try to return for something like this? I don't have a relationship with an SA, but have a purchase history (mostly online) with no previous returns. Would love to hear your thoughts!

This would annoy me and I would definitely return it.

It may also impact resale value if you choose to sell it one day.

The position of the defect of the pink edge paint makes it more noticeable than it would be somewhere else. My eye (and I think most people’s) is drawn to the LV logo and the uneven edge paint nearby.

I don’t see why a return should be a problem as you haven’t used the bag yet.

This is typical Vuitton edge painting. It is machine made, in a matter of seconds, no wonder why they end up like this. This is why I personally stay away from the contrasting colours. Black on black doesn’t show, pink on black screams. For a $5000 bag this should not be OK either way.
If I were you I’d take it back.

If you don’t like the appearance, I don’t think they’ll give you a hard time about doing an exchange. My husband gave me a Capucines and there was a variation in the leather of the flap that bugged me. It wasn’t a defect, just a natural variation in the leather, but I texted the SA who sold it to my husband and he very pleasantly arranged an exchange for me. We had no prior relationship with the SA.

I’m at the store now and the SA said it is at the end of the stitch and it is completely normal, not to worry about it. Guess I’ll have to put up with it

They took out another epi noe bag to compare and it’s got a similar split, just not as bad as mine. I guess since I’ve bought the bag for 2 years already I can’t really call it a defect but rather just bad quality control.
Hope this helps other owners and other potential buyers who are thinking of buying this bag in future.

I have the BB and it has a saffron yellow lining. I just looked at mine very closely next to the window. I think I only saw 2 small yellow stitches — look like 2 dots in the picture below, not very noticeable at all. I am guessing maybe the stitching on yours is not as tight as mine since it’s a bigger bag?
