I love Chanel and find them to offer quality, well-thought-out products. Blushes are a great place to start; I like their lipsticks, too. I'm not a gloss girl, but their glossimers get a lot of attention. Their colors are often complex, so look in-store and do not rely on internet swatches.

Skincare & liquid foundations are usually highly fragranced. I have sensitive skin, but no problem with Chanel fragrances. They are well done, too. Just know this before buying.

Oh! Some of their nail colors are truly unique and worth buying. Go for it!

As for Dior...there new stuff is worth looking at. Chanel's old Creative Director now runs Dior, and he is one smart guy. Dior's new lip glosses look like Chanel's in terms of packaging. If I wore gloss, I would give these a try. I like Dior's baume lipsticks; Lili is a wearable pink coral and Escapade can be worn anytime.

This! I thought it was just me! I have bought their foundation and lipsticks before and I think they were crap! Not worth the money at all! One lipstick I literally just thrown away after two uses. It was an impulse buy at the airport duty free and the texture was horrible.

There are some products from Chanel that I like: mascara Le Volume, foundation Aqualumiere, limited edition highlighters and blushes. As for lipsticks, I think there are better ones out there, unless Chanel has a specific color that I like.. Their bronzer Soleil Tan is good, too.
As for Dior, I like their lipsticks, foundations and lipbalms.. But you can find dupes for lipsticks & lipbalms for a lower price

I went shopping today for my birthday and got this - my first Dior anything. Lol. Color 612. I love it and it has a little bit of sparkle. :-)

My favorite three Dior Addict lipsticks: These lipsticks are fragrance free which I like and very moisturizing.
368 Pink Cherie
422 Tokyo
714 New York ( Isn't entirely matte has a hint of shine)

If you are can't afford the $33 price tag here are some dupes which I also like to use

I don't really like Chanel's lip products. Glosses are sticky and lipsticks way too dry for my lips. In lip products I tend to gravitate towards YSL and Lancome more. Chanel's powders and foundations are good, I used to wear them all the time some years ago but I don't think they really fit my needs anymore. I'd like to test out their blush, they seem to have nice shades :)

Dior has great glosses!! I don't really wear eye shadows but they have one of the best ones, definitely worth investing if you wear eye shadows on daily basis.

I really love this Chanel lipstick I found at the duty free last year (a beautiful plum shade Rhianna wore in a magazine). But it's sooo drying on my lips that I rarely wear it. Any way to make it less drying? Any lip primer or anything I can put underneath? This lipstick is dark and matte.

I usually love anything Chanel. I like their super soft makeup brushes best, their blushes, their foundations, and their lipsticks. However I hate their lip gloss. To me their lip gloss is a waste of money because you cannot get enough color on the brush. (I don't like any lip gloss that looks like a nice color inside the tube and then when you put it on there is like no color, totally transparent and sheer.) And I was excited to try the lip glosses after reading reviews on here but nope....didn't do it for me. However I like their other beauty products.

Omg their gloss does the same for me! Think I'll switch to Dior Glossimers.

I like both. I don’t wear foundation so can’t comment on these but I really like (and have repurchased) these Dior and Chanel make up products:
- mascaras: le Volume de Chanel and Dior iconic OverCurl
- Chanel wand concealer
- Chanel les Beiges bronzer (healthy glow powder)
- Chanel rouge allure lipsticks (different colours)
- Dior addict lip glows (different colours)
- Chanel nail varnishes and the Dior Nail Glow

I have a very simple make up routine so don’t wear these terribly often but I also have some Dior eyeshadows and a Dior highlighter and they are all super lovely and pigmented

I use Dior lip glows every day. Totally worth it to me :)

My most complimented lip stick is a Chanel - the only Chanel one I own so that was worth it as well.

One of the best red lipsticks I've ever had was Chanel Scarlet. Another nice bright red is Lancôme Rouge Rayonnant #47. Both so worth the price!
A huge disappointment was a Dior Couture lipstick which bled so much that my makeup was ruined in 15 minutes. The price was something around 43 euros and in Finland, you can't really return makeup unless it's been damaged in transport or otherwise ruined before the customer gets it. A lipstick that basically is just really low quality - no right to return it. So I paid 43 euros for a lipstick and threw it away after trying it 2 or 3 times.
