Is 1941 gone?

I agree. I think this is kind of a big deal... I would love to know their reasoning behind it. Maybe something will take the place of 1941? It definitely felt like it was helping the brand distinguish itself. It's just kind of a perplexing thing for me- I just found out through this thread.

Yeah, I found this out a few weeks ago at an event at my store to celebrate the new season stuff. I have to say I’m pretty disappointed, as 1941 was one of the only reasons I came back to Coach. However, it really did get frustrating to be told “these 1941 bags won’t go on sale or ever be sent to outlet” towards the beginning of the collection, and then spend full price, only to have the prices slashed in half weeks/months later. This happened regularly enough, that at this point, I refuse to spend full price at Coach, even if they kept the 1941 line around forever. Also, I’m not a huge fan the the Coach New York stuff is costing the same as some of the 1941 stuff did. In my opinion, it’s a step down in quality, and definitely not worth the same price tag :(

Well said. Completely agree.

It's like they used the 1941 line to elevate their brand and increase prices on the NY line. I don't feel they are worth the price. I was at outlet last night and saw a nice bag for outlet but at $495 and 60% off, I felt it was still over priced. When I go out shopping (not as often any more), I rarely find bags of quality. I used to find some nice bags that made their way to Marshalls or TJ Maxx but when I go there now, I see mass produced items of very low quality. I still browse that section if I'm in the store but to find anything I want to buy is rare now.

Yes! I'm just noticing that dreamer 36 with rivets costs more than cooper with rivets and with cooper you get glovetanned leather w/suede interior. Crazy! Dillards carries the dreamer so you know it'll eventually be clearanced out. I will never pay full price unless it's truly a limited item that I can't live without!

Coach is Coach. They don't listen. Either you love the brand or you don't. I love the brand. I own all retail. I don't purchase outlet bags. I have 1941 bags, Madison, Pinnacle, Saffiano, Rhyders and others. I only purchase my retail from outlets because I like getting them at large discounts. I love them all and the quality on all are great. To each their own of course.

Well, if you have been at Coach longer, that's what they'd always say; something will never be at the outlet, it won't ever be on sale, etc-then clearance. I don't even know if that's how they trained their employees, since I hear it endlessly. The boroughs were my favorite, before the Rhyders and 1941 came along. Even for the 1941, the earlier bags had been great, some of the later ones not so much. Don't know if it had anything to do with their reimaging, but recently I also stopped receiving PCE, forget about the F&F, so that was the last straw for me. I really love the brand, as it has so much potential, but unless they do something to draw me back I'll watch from afar.

These are the 1941 styles I could find right now:

Rogue and Rogue Shoulder Bag
Cooper Carryall
Dinky
Riley
Duffle
Page
Laural Frame Bag
Saddle
Bedford Hobo
Rogue Tote
Tote 34
Rogue Brief
Clutch and Large Clutch

Me too. I culled most of my non-1941 bsgs from my collection. I prefer the more subtle branding.

The only Coach i bought this year was the Washed Red Rogue 25. I bought from two small French brands, some LV and two Dior WOC. If 1941 is gone I’m done with Coach completely.
Would you mind telling me what the two small French brands are? I am always looking for something different and new.
Thank you.

Thank you all, I have really enjoyed browsing thru those website. It is refreshing to shop different styles and looks. I did price up a custom Eugenie on Just Campagne, but it was above my price point. Still fun to look around at though.
