I am so so sorry to hear... I kept on hoping it would turn around for you as well. Now that Hermes has made a final decision, I hope the reseller will do the right thing and return your money back to you ASAP, regardless if they can find the original owner or not!

OP, I am really sorry that you have to go thru with this.... I haven’t read the rest of the comments and suggestions but I think you should focus on how to get your money refunded by the reseller.

I read that somewhere the reseller offers money back if the bag deemed fake because they couldn’t guaranteed the bag’s authenticity as it’s from a 3rd party so leaving that to the buyers to proof.... After all the reseller should be responsible for selling a fake on behalf of an unknown 3rd party or sending you a fake bag deemed by the HQ of Hermes. Again I am so sorry as you are the one that is being hurt :frown:

As promised I'm to share the latest status as my case progresses. The aftersales team from my boutique forwarded me the result from the latest assessment. Long story short - worse did come to worst.
.
"As requested, we have escalated your concerns to our After-Sales Department in Paris. Our After-Sales Directors have confirmed that the handbag in question has indeed not been manufactured by Hermès Paris. The Letter of Expertise and Affidavit will be issued to you shortly."

Not sure what else I could do to further my case at this stage. My store has done all they can to appeal to HQ. I have also submitted all I had on my end. I would imagine the letter will explain in more details who has examined the bag and what procedure has been carried out.

Feel like I should just cave in, pack my learnings and move on. Always buy directly from the boutique; Keep the receipt for life; Let go of any specific style that you missed.) After all without the original purchase document what else could I do?

I read that Hermes made a decision here. However it is incorrect. I stand by my opinion that this is an authentic Hermes manufactured Kelly Sellier Mou. All aspects are compliant with an authentic handbag of that description and I own two myself.

It is well known that Hermes after sales has frequently made errors, repairing counterfeits and declaring authentic bags not compliant. This recent occurrence is one of the worst instances I have known of and its result appalling.
Have you inspected the bag though, irl?

Could it be the photos are of an authentic Mou, but the one that looks awfully similar to the photos, isn’t the same one you authenticated?

I know companies can make mistakes...especially when they let go of senior employees in favor of newer ones with lower wages..

But

For the bag to go through two rounds with senior employees and than once more with one that has experience with mou (was this confirmed?).

At some point...

I know we all feel for OP in so many ways.
I had wondered something similar about the pictures.
There is a weak link in the evidence chain, in that the photos used and that we have all seen were those provided by the seller.
I believe OP had the bag in her possession and used it for a while before taking it for Hermes Spa and unfortunately she did not seem to be concerned that the bag she had was not the bag in the photos.

OP, you have shown such grace, class and dignity the whole time. .it speaks volume about the kind of a person that you are.
I am really sorry for what you had to go through.
At this stage, the priority is for the op to get her money back from the seller since they sold her a bag deemed fake by H. Blaming H and repeating how H makes mistakes won't help the OP get her money back in any way. Best of luck and sending you good vibes.

Why do you persist in this? I am sure OP looked at the bag? Should she have re-photographed and had another authentication carried out if it appeared to be the same bag? Are we to suspect that every respected reseller somehow has multiple copies of the same bag to sell -- especially one in this unusual style and color? This is an unfair blame of the OP IMHO.

My post was deleted but ok if it is against the rules.
OP sorry for you. I didn't expect Hermes to tell something different once they told it is fake. That tread only confirm for me that Hermes don't know their own product.
The bag is authentic Kelly bag not super fake how many people here think ( I saw all pictures of that bag not only that one here). From years I follow producers of fake Hermes bags and inspected their bags in smallest details. I'm not the only one who do that but I know Hermes don't do it. I know available fakes on the market through the years and in 2005 super fakes of Kelly bags still do not exist. Not only that but in 2005 even there are no average quality hand stitched fakes of Kelly bag and I'm sure no one can show me the link to such bag.

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood, but I thought the photos the OP posted in this thread were taken by her before sending the bag for authentication.
