I have spoken with people involved in this situation and I do know some would like this thread closed. I apologize to those that I have personally offended by reopening, it wasn't my intention. I do believe that many people care greatly about the final outcome, and that was my intention for reopening.
I also want to personally state that bababebi is not only the gold standard in authenticating for thousands, but also for members of our forum. I personally would go to her for anything I wanted authenticated and I know she did not want to be looped into a discussion of this magnitude, nor do I think the OP intended for that. This thread piqued the interest of many and many worry about how Hermes is handling this - that's how I read this.
The post on our site was written by one of our writers who thought this was something that should be covered. Again, I think like many of you on this thread it is a larger issue - we all believe brands should be right all the time and when we realize they may not be, it makes us question so many things. I think it's important to tell - because truth is not everything is always as it seems. This has happened to me in other arenas, even with Doctors making huge mistakes, and I do think we should share when this happens in the right venue. When it comes to bags, this is the venue.
I am open to all of your suggestions right now - I am not looking for this thread to get out of hand - and I am open to reclosing if that is what would be in the best interest of the forum and especially our authenticator.
