FWIW, I just pulled the trigger on a bag from a reseller. And I'm still definitely using Bababebi. Only thing this thread made me second guess was whether or not to use the H spa services.

I fully accept the risks. I have weighed it against the risk that I could continue spending (more) money at Hermes and not get offered a bag in my desired specifications. We all make our choices.

Like everyone else, I hope for a successful resolution. I'm really wondering how this is going to go: Will the reseller refund the money? In this case I hope so... but I also wonder, is it prudent for resellers to have such a policy when there's the possibility that unscrupulous buyers (NOT OP, to be clear) may send a fake bag to the H spa and claim it was their real one, only to pocket the refund and keep their auth bag? I know people selling their auth bags on eBay worry about similar claims from buyers who later falsely claim their received bag is a dupe.

Megs you literally gave me a heart attack!! I thought OP was back to give us an update.

Not yet, though I assume that is what everyone is waiting for. I'll keep a close eye on this thread and if there is any bashing happening, I'll have to clean up and close again. I think there are a lot of members invested in this for many reasons so it's important to keep it open so the OP can come back and share. :flowers:

On an opposing side thought. I don’t know if I will sell any of my bags. Does a seller want to deal with someone coming back asking for a receipt on a bag they have let go of? The resale market seems to be more complex now...
Super risky.. especially couple months later after you have put the $$ you made off of the sale to use and then you get a message from the buyer asking for a refund because it’s fake :wtf: The resale market is definitely not for the faint of heart.

I am still selling my stuff when I no longer need/want it but I only do so now to professional consignors (like FP etc) although it will be less money, it is also less stress.

I'd like to open this thread again and see if we can continue the conversation in a way that's kind and productive. Please keep in mind we can have different opinions but the way in which we share them and the delivery is key.

@Megs thank you for re-opening the thread! 100% agree on delivery is key.

Here’s hoping we get to know the outcome

Okay, I will say this, I truly didn't get this blog post... And must admit I was even a bit shocked that the Purseblog would rush so superficially into so many conclusions before this matter is over and while we are waiting for more info. Hope I don't offend anyone by saying this.

In any event, whether they are right or wrong in their assessment, how is it weird, that the law requires Hermes to destroy a bag that they deem fake, Hermes being the only authority entitled to make that call?

How could a law allow, let alone require ,that they put back into circulation, Hermes of all people, a bag that is legally fake? Really?!

Maybe it is my "European cultural attitude"

+1 I didn’t get the blog post either, I thought it jumped the gun. I’m waiting to see the outcome of this story.

This is interesting to say the least. On the one hand, the thread was paused cos some of us (yeah me too) were getting a bit petty about our speculation and peace had to be restored. Yet in same aren6, an entire blog post was spun from the thread that was put on pause. This sort of two-facedness is why people will always suspect the motives of certain characters on this forum. It’s analogous to “breaking up a fight, only to instigate the same fight once you have it on pay per view”. It’s convenient how the thread was unpaused to ermmmm, yeah continue the drama at OP’s expense when the truth is there is NO update and at this point unless OP is ready to share the final verdict, why are we flogging this dead horse
