This had been a subject of much debate and has been answered by Hermes.
In my neck of the woods, it was never any debate. I have always been told by my SA as such. It does not even need to be as serious as being dyed etc. If they detect that any product which is not produced by Hermes has been applied to their bags etc, they can and will refuse to service it.

As promised I'm to share the latest status as my case progresses. The aftersales team from my boutique forwarded me the result from the latest assessment. Long story short - worse did come to worst.
.
"As requested, we have escalated your concerns to our After-Sales Department in Paris. Our After-Sales Directors have confirmed that the handbag in question has indeed not been manufactured by Hermès Paris. The Letter of Expertise and Affidavit will be issued to you shortly."

Not sure what else I could do to further my case at this stage. My store has done all they can to appeal to HQ. I have also submitted all I had on my end. I would imagine the letter will explain in more details who has examined the bag and what procedure has been carried out.

Feel like I should just cave in, pack my learnings and move on. Always buy directly from the boutique; Keep the receipt for life; Let go of any specific style that you missed.) After all without the original purchase document what else could I do?

So sorry to hear this! You said your seller was going to refund you right? Is Paris going to send the bag back to you? And if no, will your seller refund you without the bag? Hugs!

Thanks Xiang for your words. I know Hermes' policy very well on goods that's deemed inauthentic so I don't expect them to return my bag if their latest assessment result is final. Meantime the seller is working closely with me and we are both awaiting the Affidavit letter to find out more.

I really hope you get this resolved with the seller and get your money back! Fingers crossed for you!

First and foremost, I admire you for sharing in detail your story with our TPF Hermes members and I do hope that we have been some help in comforting you during this terrible ordeal. I’m so very sorry the outcome wasn’t as expected and that your reseller will do the right thing. Hugs to you:hugs:

I've been following this thread since your original post although have never had the opportunity to post my support for you. I'm so sorry to hear about this most recent set of news, how utterly devastating.

Through all this, I admire your honesty and candour with us to share this story, even it makes for bitter reading.

i had been quietly following this thread hoping for the positive ending. i am very sorry for what has been decided by H and next step of hope would be their much cooperative handling process. i would be prepared that H would stick to a minimal explanation on their coming to final decision although their cooperation and your inclusion to the process would be admirable.
i will keep following and hoping for the best even out of this difficult situation.

I feel so sad for OP.

I had been hoping Hermes was wrong, not only for the sake of OP but also for myself and everyone else who had bought authenticated H bags. I don’t even dare to share this with my hubby who had spent his money for all my preloved & authenticated H bags.

What happened to OP has made me very scared to buy more discontinued H leather bags even though I am aware there are many members who successfully bought preloved that was accepted by H spa.

I am also in dilemma now...part of me want to send my preloved bags for Spa, to assured myself that my bags are indeed genuine as authenticated (so I can have peace of mind). I wouldn’t want to be carrying super fake around! And part of me fear what happened to OP might happen to me too. Sigh....

OP, my heart goes to you. And I think u have admirably dealt with this matter so well. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you for sharing with all of us. As much as it’s scary, this will remind us to be very careful. So Thank you. God bless you.
