At the request of cherryblossum, here are some pictures of my Circus scarf, by Annie Faivre, purchased in Paris around 1990. First, two photos of the absolutely marvelous cowl knot that MYH and her dear friend "Canty" taught us yesterday. I am totally in love with this knot, MYH! :hbeat:

Then two very casual, slightly messy ties to show off the corners. The following post will be all the lovely detail of the circus animals and performers. It may not be obvious, but there is a great deal of metallic paint on this scarf. For example, in the faces and tights of the acrobats, in the leopard's spots, on the "circus" banner, and even in the corners of the scarf. It makes the scarf a bit thick to tie, but with the corners tucked away in the cowl knot, the silk suddenly becomes soft and malleable.
What a beauty!

Elaine I'm so impressed with the way this cowl knot transforms the scarf. It's so annoying when those older designs have magical interiors that never get seen and often tails that look relatively dull . This solves the problem beautifully.

But before I left the house I tried out the chouchou tie from Arabesques a few days ago (I left both the little knots showing), and one of the ties from the viddie posted yesterday. Both of these are going to need A LOT more work!

:heart:the first look .Your scarf looks so chic and understated. I mean the second knot really, the chou chou with tails left out , don't perfect it I like it 'just the way it is'

and voila! Here's the finished product. Of course it looks different on my fruit model than on a human. I've also posted a pic of it on me too. I like to tug on the middle of the scarf and at the bottom to loosen it up around my neck. And now you are ready to go!

Thank you for the instructions. I was giggling so much when I first saw Canty - LOL!

OH MY GOD, twinsies again lanit!!:yahoo: I LOVE this cw on you!! Looks amazing with those breton stripes too!

no surprise dear HoT, we have always enjoyed the same silks and colorways too. Delighted you have this one.

Lanit, this ZP looks SO SO awesome on you!

You look wonderful! Happy to be twins with you on this one!

Already said it , this is 'the one' for you.

Thank you MYH Fabulousity, and froufrou, it makes me happy to wear this creature so near and dear to my heart.

I have been thinking about ZP in 90 instead of 140, and this is definitely pushing me towards 90! You wore it well!

Kitty, I tried on every Colorway of the ZP 140 shawl and the colors and scale of the pattern were just too garish on me. I am not sure why, especially seeing so many beautifully modeled by others. The only one that worked for me was the black/white one and I already have too many shawls in that color combination. I find this design an exception as I usually go for GM scale on most designs. The 90 just felt and looked right for me. I hope you find the ZP perfect for you!

love love this!

Thank you so much shoes!

Hi all:

Thanks to MYH, I could finally wear this scarf. My first COWL attempt with Pavois. Also sharing pictures of FALL on the Trinity River CA last week when I joined DH and his brother on steelhead fishing.

You hit it right on the nail and described what I feel about the ZP CSGM. I am waiting to see if the black/white would work and if that doesn't, that's it, I am going for 90. I feel in general, large scale designs look better on me in 90cm, while those with more complex details are better in GM.
