I think you have mastered the cowl lyseiki8, lovely on you! I can't seem to get the cowl to be less "poufy" on me:nogood:

Same here. Looks big and poufy on me too. I don't mind because I like it loose and less structured. I wouldn't mind looking more neat though.

Hi there Bova123 and LavenderIce - I also bumped into this problem and I find it occurs more with my stiff 90s. The drapey soft 90s will reduce this poufy problem. If you're brave enough, I would suggest giving your 90s a handwash to help them relax. I also think a draped scarf helps immensely for other casual knots. Hope that helps.

Thank you MYH, I am still too afraid to hand wash my scarves! Maybe someday I will get the nerve. For now I send off to Tiecrafters in NYC. In the meantime, I will continue to try the cowl but with some older, more "worn" scarves.

Please keep the inspiration coming ladies! This week, it's cold and Wintry laziness has set in so nothing can be too simple or easy ... :p
I always feel the need to break up black if it's too close to my face.

Thanks for the tip! Will keep that in mind.

and voila! Here's the finished product. Of course it looks different on my fruit model than on a human. I've also posted a pic of it on me too. I like to tug on the middle of the scarf and at the bottom to loosen it up around my neck. And now you are ready to go!

Oh MYH, thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial, if it wasn't for Elaine, I'd have missed it! I've already tried it with a couple of scarves and it looks great.

Congratulations on this wonderful thread MYH! This is how I wear my carres 70 in cowboy knot style: I fold it in triangle and make a knot in one of the ends, once I wrap it around my neck I slide the other end across the knot and wear it sideways with the tips hanging one to the back and one to the front, it's easier when wearing a jacket. I like wearing a necklace on top of the scarf.

Beautiful scarf and great knot idea. I like to wear my 70 cm scarves with the cowboy knot, too. Not knotting but sliding through the knot gives more length which is a plus.
