and voila! Here's the finished product. Of course it looks different on my fruit model than on a human. I've also posted a pic of it on me too. I like to tug on the middle of the scarf and at the bottom to loosen it up around my neck. And now you are ready to go!

It looks fabulous, Bova... and you are making me less afraid to try the Friendship Knot, which has always looked too complicated to me!
Thank you so much ElainePG. I stayed away from the friendship knot for a while, but have started to use it more frequently, and am liking the results! Give it a try :smile1:

OK Silkies - I know many have you might be in knot overload with all the new ones that have been posted here recently but I have a NEW KNOT alert! But, there's a catch. I found it in a video on youtube but cannot figure out how it's done.

Can we get the scarf ninja's out please to show how this is done?
Here's the link to the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q40pUmWt_k
The knot in question starts at 2:34. Help! :help:

Also, the knot at 2:03 is kind of interesting too but I would like to figure out a way to wear it without the little bow sticking out. I think that makes it too fussy.

Thanks for sharing this video! I can't figure out the knot you want right off either. The 2:03 is good to know! I have seen it done before and forgot about the details 😋

I THINK he draped one end of the scarf down, it was in a loose bias....Then took two ends of the other side of the scarf and tied them around the part hanging down and let it sag and drape....they really did not show the beginning of that knot.

I agree, it looks like a loose basic bias fold, maybe something between the bias and rectangular fold? I need time to experiment.

The one at 2:03 is pretty easy, I think. I'd make the same ball knot on the first tail, then I'd slide the other tail from top to bottom. The "ball" shape might help to avoid the men's tie look. Or you could slide from bottom to top, and hide the tail behind your neck.

Argh! I cannot walk on that kind of challenge ;)

Here are my attempts. The 2:03 starting with a triangle, and hiding the 2nd tail.
The 2:34, with the scarf just thrown on my shoulders. Yes, just like that, without even trying to knot it!!

...... and "This is not a valid image file". grrrrrrrr

Thanks for the fantastic step by step instructions! I can't wait to play with my 90's. :graucho:

Melora - you are making me giggle while I lay in bed with my iPad. The second scarf is trophees de venise. A quick explanation of the knot would be to fold it in a triangle. Drape it on your head and bring the two points hanging down on either side in front of your neck, cross them, and then tie behind your neck in a tiny knot. Like you would do if you were protecting your hair while riding in a convertible. Ok, then drop the hood on your head back. Then twist the scarf around on your neck 180 degrees. Tuck the little point in (you got this part right), then fold down the cowl to reveal the loose pleats and fluff and arrange as you like. This knot stays put and does not move around. I will show pics tmrw. It is pretty complicated to explain.

Thank you for this invigorating thread. Not to take anything from MYH as you do this knot so beautifully, too, but I believe Chestnutty also had the same knot and she used Mr. Teddy as a model - see post #741

I am a great fan of different knots and I had also found this video of Lilith Moonl on You Tube - notice she had a similar cowl knot for mousseline (Classic Glamour knot) but many ideas can also be gained here:

She also has the rose / floral knot in this video although she used it as a headband:

Enjoy!

Oh gosh yes! Looks like Chestnutty is the original inventor. The only difference is the beginning part. I don't do the fold because I prefer the cowl effect.

And thanks for the videos. I will watch those tonight while I'm snug in my bed.
