How many bags are too many bags?

Do you have alot of choice for handbags in Dubai? I friend of mine is visiting there and she thought handbags were the one accessory you could really show off...would you agree?

There are tones of choices for handbags here, and your friend is right, although your choice of outfit really makes a huge deal but people notice handbags a lot more, it just Bolds you and you're appearance...You really want to be your best if you are spending a day at Dubai mall/Emirates mall...its not necessary but its like an unwritten role that everybody is aware of...its not pleasant as it adds pressure but well thats how the fashion is here...

That's just kinda sad.

I'm going over to my parents' for Easter and am having trouble deciding what bags to take with me. I'm taking a larger bag for my clothes etc, a small/medium tote for my personal items and a tiny crossbody for evenings out or walks. I just realised I'm having real trouble choosing!
I feel like I have so many wonderful bags and I'd like to take 5-6 bags instead of 2-3. The only problem is I'm taking public transport so I really can't carry a bagful of bags with me... :p

Right now the large bag is likely to be either a pink Cirque du Soleil X Reebok sports bag, a black Day Birger et Mikkelsen Gweneth tote or a floral print Jansport Wasabi backpack.

The medium tote spot has a turquoise nubuck Gabs convertible tote, a Longchamp Le Pliage Amethyste Medium SH, LC LP Cuir Fuchsia Medium and LC LP Chocolate Large LH competing for it. (This is the one I'm having most trouble with.)

The small bag is likely to be either a no brand camel chain strap crossbody, a PT Design midnight blue chain strap shoulder bag and a black vintage shoulder bag that's actually made in my hometown! :smile1:

I'm really going out of my mind trying to decide. :weird: Anybody else with a similar problem? Do you have so many lovely bags that you have trouble deciding what to carry or take with you for a trip or just everyday life?

I have 2 "trip bags," suitcase converting to backpack & crossbody as handbag.
I cram into a suitcase pocket 1 cheap, fabric tote. Handy.

I do this whether visiting relatives or strangers.
Last relative I visited had a deranged terrier-mix, who scratched the **** out of everyone's shoes, etc.
Whilst owner babbled, "He's a little hyper today. He gets excited easily."
The sturdy travel bags survived.

Most of us will buy a handbag when shopping, on trips as this, I think. ;)
Good to leave a space. Enjoy!

I'm hopeless when it comes to NOT buying a bag whenever I have the opportunity...lack of space has forced me to learn, though. The Le Pliages are handy for travel because they fold down into a tiny space. Can take a few with me with no trouble - that could be a good or a bad thing.

I do seem to have trouble deciding what to carry whether it's for an everyday situation or travel. I can't be alone, or am I?

I perfectly know what you are going through, Amazona !
We have so many lovely bags that every time we go somewhere, we have to make a decision.
Why should this bag which I rarely use for lack of opportunity stay at home?
Isn't it time it got some fresh air?
Why should I take this nice bag instead of that gorgeous one which is not as practical?
As I travel light, I always take lightweight and roomy bags, just in case I have to bring back a few things or ...find another bag during my trip.[emoji41]
My most beautiful bags, often the heavy ones, stay safely at home.

It is HARD!

It kinda depends where I'm going but I usually take a large tote to travel with (usually Gucci) plus a BV that packs fairly flat, plus a evening bag/large wallet. All outfits must co-ordinate

Sometimes I find I get weird even when I'm only going to work or run errands. The other day, the BF got kinda frustrated with me when I put my things in 2 different bags before settling for #3! I can sort of understand that he doesn't understand me - he owns 2 backpacks and a duffle.

The decisions feel even heavier (if you can call deciding on your travel accessories "heavy decisions") when you have to get along with your choices for 3-14 days. Makes me thank my lucky stars for light, stylish bags so I can pack a whole bunch with me!

So I battled this dilemma overnight and most of the morning and decided to call it a tie. Went for the DB&M Gweneth, tan Modalu Pippa and a chain strap lizard print Pertti Palmroth vintage mini. I did cheat a little and stashed my LP Amethyst in the tote, as a sort of safety blanket.
When I get back I have to decide on which everyday bag to go for - new job as a train stewardess starts next week and I'll have to think of what to take with me (12-hr days!) and what bag to carry. Talk about difficult decisions! :p

HILARIOUS!! and exactly why I'm always hesitant to take my really nice bags. Not to mention having to stuff the min the overhead/under your seat on the plane. When I have to do this, I actually put them in the dust bag first, but prefer to just have bags I don't care about...but then that defeats the whole purpose of buying high end [read: costly] bags you buy for the "quality" smh

Thanks.
I remember reading a great tip, from another member here--use waterproof dustbag on airplane. Because other passengers may get crazy with drinks/etc.

I try to suit quality bags/gear to purpose.
I lump most trips into "jungle hiking" category--because I'll be covered in grit, exhausted & probably swearing aloud @ the occasional tree.

However, many travel with admirable poise & like special handbags on trips. No wrong. :)
