How do you afford your bags and how many per year? Credit debt or millionare lover?

Currently I'm a stay at home mom. Worked as an engineer for about 3 years before having a baby. Was extremely frugal and never bought any designer bags until earlier this year. That was a start that got me hooked! Bought 2 bags in 2 months. (Yes! I'm a newbie.) Should I slow down to avoid impulsive buys? How do you people manage?

It's too late to turn back now  Just accept that you will be spending ALOT on bags in the years to come. :p

Bags motivate me to make more money, and I end up making more that way. It's a good thing as I see it. ;)

So far I don't own any of the premier designer bags. I've gotten more into refining my bag collection. I've purchased a few consignment bags and have found some that were preowned but unsed, perfect condition at incredible prices.

For new bags I buy on sale and if I don't absolutely love everything about it, it gets returned. I sell the bags I don't use. I won't buy a bag I can't afford. And I would never go into debt for one. If there was a pricier bag I wanted, I'd save up.

I am a 22 yr old college student majoring in becoming a RN with a BSN. My parents were poor so it made me strive to work hard in school and job wise. I sold candy bars in middle school lol!!! and worked at the age of 15. I moved out at 19 and work at a psychiatric facility as a cna which does not pay very well $11,000 a yr. I have a bf of 7 yrs and he has bought me 1 purse so far and lots of high end makeup. I also buy cheap clothes: aeropostale, f21, etc but I splurge on high end makeup and skin care. I buy purses on sale and sometimes if i cnt leave it behind i will buy it at full price about once or twice a yr because im very picky when it comes to the style of the purse and how functional it will be lol. Not really in cc debt becuz my max is $300 lol!!!!! So I only spend my cc on high end makeup and other stuff I may need. When I get my license I hope to buy a beautiful home and have a room dedicated to high end makeup, designer purses and heels :D

Used to pay in full for the first few designers bag, & at a point of time, I had to pay by installments. Now that it's cleared, only it came true to me that don't buy if you can't afford. Always pay them in full right away after using your credit cards, if not cash.

I make a decent amount of money plus almost unlimited overtime during our "busy season" so I work a lot then. During our slow season I still earn a very nice wage but I can't buy a purse every month like I can when it's busy here. But I'm going to grad school so the splurge items will have to stop well not all the way but I will start looking at preowned items now. But when I graduate oh boy! Back to Gucci and Neiman's I go!

I'm a teacher with a kid in college - I haven't actually bought my first QUALITY bag yet. I found this forum while trying to decide what to buy. I work teaching workshops for other teachers in the summer and this is the first year it isn't going to a car for my son or his tuition, so I decided FINALLY I'm going to buy a NICE handbag. Now, for me, nice is something that doesn't come from Kohls LOL. I'm planning to spend less than 500.00 and it will probably have to be my only purchase for a while. But from what I'm reading on here, those may be famous last words....:tpfrox:

Very inspiring and admirable. I'm in a similar situation going to school to break the cycle of poverty in my family. It's a great motivator. I try to buy my mom some designer things because I know she can't and she would like to be able to.
