How do you afford your bags and how many per year? Credit debt or millionare lover?

I am older (50) and have had some investments come due and could easily afford a Birkin, but would rather spend the money on travel. I just want a practical handbag, but frankly the cheap stuff doesn't hold up. I just love Balenciaga because it's timeless and will wear forever with the proper treatment and is light in the chèvre so it doesn't hurt my shoulder when I carry it. I've carried two firsts for three years in rotation with several cheaper Coach and Treesje bags and I keep going back to the Bal bags.

That's what I've always wanted to do but never knew how to get started!! How did you ever find your way?

millionaire boyfriends who buy me everything from bags to clothes, shoes, accessories.. i love being pampered and they do it well :) .. parents might have bought me 2 of the many bags i currently have!

Cash (from bday presents, valentines day, sweetest day, christmas, etc) Rarely use credit cards unless it's an interest free rate going on. Also, you can find some great, gently loved one's on bag, borrow or steal. My hubby is great about me buying myself nice things, including $1000+purses! :yahoo::woohoo:As he tells me you only live once and this is not dress rehearsal, so you will not be coming back to do it (life) again so enjoy it to the fullest..:D

OMG! he's the best husband in the world. :D

1. I never ever put myself in debt. CC is always paid every month.
2. I'm a continuing college student who has a great part-time job teaching people piano and cello.
3. The purses I buy are never at retail price, including the only LV I own.
4. Currently, I'm skipping out on purse/clothing purchases because I want to concentrate on buying a 2nd hand car and pay off student debts. I do however, give myself 10% of my paycheck to go for entertainment and good food because my classes stress me out and I want to treat myself a little.

I know exactly how you feel! I did 4 years of nursing + am currently doing continuing education for certifications. Good luck on your studies! Nothing I admire more than a hard-working person!

I am 26 years old, my parents use to give me an allowance before I got my first full time job which helped me with my bag purchases along with birthday and christmas money. Since I have started working, I buy all my bags myself and I work hard and save up and treat myself.

I'm 24 and was given many of my bags as gifts -mostly from my ex's snobby and spoiled sister. She would do it to make her parents mad and as an incentive for them to give her more allowance to go shopping with - but hey, I can't complain for being used in her scheming! I now like to think it was collateral I earned for staying in that bad relationship for longer than I should have! :p

I work and save for my bags. I studied hard and now I enjoy life by making thought through investments every now and then. I rather buy something top quality rarely than often something cheaper more often.

i work, save money in my "purse fund", sell bags that I don't use to fund another. I buy on ebay & buy & sell on Bonanza & got my favorite Chloe from HGbagsonline. I had to sell 4 or 5 bags to get my Chloe though.

I am definately cutting back now. I am enjoying my collection, but hope to have saved enough money by September to buy a BV. I love the feeling of saving up for something that I have wanted for a long time & not having debt for it. I did learn that the hard way though! In my 20s I was in credit card debt for my impulse buys. I worked hard to change & my DH also helped with that:sweatdrop: when we first got married & he was like "whats with these credit card bills?!"

I have never received an expensive bag as a gift though - my DH thinks $300 is unheard of to spend for a bag & my parents never had money for expensive items - I was lucky to get a pair of Jordache jeans at 13 years old - I grew up in "hand me downs". I think that is why when I got my first job & credit card I went nuts!

I save my birthday and Christmas money gifts to buy bags and also my DH buys me some.

I only buy if I have the money. I don't have any debts and don't want any. I prefer to wait before buying a bag and make sure I have the cash for it.

I love to travel also like you. That's why I don't own a Birkin yet.

I have never bought a Balenciaga, would you tell me which model your prefer? Thanks!
