25 I'm a saver, work fulltime, pay my bills, cars paid for saving to put towards a down payment for a house. I set myself a goal If I save this much in this amount of time I can then start putting money aside for a bag. I never take money out of my actual savings. Il have to set aside new saving for a bag.
I could probably afford a bag every month if I wanted, but that's not what I want. I love bags I do but I value other things more. To know if God forbid anything happens in life or with my job I wouldn't have to be dependent on anyone else and could look after myself.
Also I love travelling and staying in nice hotels so I'd probably put money towards that.

I agree with you on valuing other things more and staying at nice hotels and I like your financial philosophy. I think your strategy is excellent.

I looove 'vintage' bags:smile1:--I really miss the older discontinued styles/ high quality smooshy thick leather from Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Kooba, etc, etc. I guess it's a good thing that I am in love with the older styles, lol.
These days I scour the consignment shops and evilbay for those awesome bags.
No credit card debt either and I always get compliments from friends about my vintage bags.

Agree! I also find great vintage bags at Estate Sales!

after hard work and saving, me and my husband managed to buy our own house.. and yes, finally I can start saving up for my 1st LV bag.. Like what Zahzah said, me myself can afford to buy signature bags.. but considering that I want my family to have our own house, we saved up for the more important things first.. and now, I can't wait for my 1st purchase!! x

millionaire boyfriends! :D

LMAO.. I wish.....I work for each penny used to buy my bags and I scrimp and hunt for the lowest deals.

I buy second hand Limited editions and think of them as investments, if anything goes wrong I know I can sell them for $$$ even though it would hurt to do so.. I love my bags...

My boyfriend's a trader so he makes bank.... but I refuse to let him buy me designer purses... not sure why exactly but I just feel bad making him spend so much money me (he's asked if he can buy me one before) so I just buy my own LOL. I usually gift myself with one nice bag every year but I recently sold off half my closet so That goes into my purse bank too!

I just bought my first bag today and at almost $400 it's the most expensive bag I've ever bought. I usually use my credit card but I pay it off in full every month or else I get stressed out. $400 was pushing it but I haven't gotten a new purse in 6 years so I figure I will just not eat out this month and ill be fine!

i only started buying branded bags much later so have already saved up quite a bit. wish i started buying earlier though, it would have been so much cheaper! but back then, i think it's silly to spend on branded bags or maybe it's silly that i am spending $$$ on them now. oh whatever! life is short, just do whatever that makes me happy since i am spending way within my limits anyway! :peace:
