You use your parents money without them knowing? Isn't that stealing? You're obviously very spoilt.

I make decent enough money and without revealing what I make (us British think it's vulgar) I can say I've bought three Mulberry with my own money, cash. I would never get in debt for a handbag or anything else for that matter.

You cant help it because its not your own money. You dont feel the pain and satisfaction that come with the purchase. I feel sad for your parents that result in your upbringing, even if they are loaded.

Usually my mom bought it for me.. But, sometimes I used my allowance *still from her* but I would save it. Like what I did when I just recently purchased an Emilie wallet. I usually pay it in cash so that my mom won't be surprise on credit card bills or sometimes I asked her first like when I bought a Speedy bag. LV offers 3 months installment with zero interest so 60% of it pay it in cash and 40% installment so that it wont be too big and I can still pay for it.

I am a 47 year old, married and child-free.
I have been working full time as an RN for 24 years.
DH and I have a modest home and paid off our mortgage several years ago.
I drive an 8 year old BMW 3 Series (paid off years ago)

We enjoy travelling, I have an expensive bag habit, and DH has a matching watch habit.

Long story short, we have a few nice things, and we both work very hard.

So we put a lot of thought and consideration into any high end purchase.

We don't believe in credit, so before we make a purchase, we save up.

Easy peasy.....;)

I save up to buy bags, and will not buy them until I know I have the cash to pay off my credit card in full. I try to be pragmatic, and not buy everything that catches my eye, and look to pieces that will be timeless and last. Usually, it averages out to be a bag and a few accessories a year.

I live at home though, so if I was on my own, I would be a lot more strict on myself budget wise. As it is right now, 30% of my pay goes into a savings I never touch.

I feel pity to the parents of this shameful child.

On topic:

Basically Save with my hard earned money and not with my Parents. And I'd appreciate it more when I know that I worked hard to have that :graucho:

I have always bought my own designer bags. My husband has no idea the cost of these bags. I went through a Chanel stage and bought 16 in about 8 months. I have since sold several of the ones I do not use and have kept the classic flaps. I basically buy and carry one or 2 times and sell on ebay when I find something I want more. Right now I am wanting a Celine micro so I have several Chanel bags and Hermes listed to buy:)

Mine are usually for holiday or birthday gifts. My priciest bag was a gift from hubby for my college graduation.

I usually only get two bags a year unless I sell off some older ones first. I don't need to get overwhelmed with too many!

Awww its ok...im still 17 so i am not working yet but i will work after i finish college. My parents just laugh when they find out because they think it's hilarious. My mom was the one that got me into designer bags the first place when she bought me my first LV bag when i was 13 and everyone in my family uses designer goods so i guess its fine.

I never knew LV offered 3 month installments? How does that work? Just curious:)
