How do you afford your bags and how many per year? Credit debt or millionare lover?

I think I've posted here before, but I'm not sure so here we go again!

I buy my own bags with my own money. I work two-three jobs and when I have my mind set on something (like a new bag) I save for it. I'm very fortunate where I still live at home so I don't have any responsbilities as far as bills to pay. The only "bills" I have are to pay are for car insurance, gas and my own credit card.

I also never pay full retail value for any of my bags (except for Louis Vuitton). My mom works at Macy's and gets a discount at both Macy's and Bloomingdales so I always utilize her discount. I've also gotten lucky to find discounted bags at the outlets or places such as TJ Maxx.

But for the most part, I find a bag, and save!

Work + save up. I have no credit cards now just my monthly pay with no overdraft. my husband has bought me a handbag and a pair of shoes for presents but the rest, I bought myself. To be honest, there's not much else I want just now, seem to be happy with what I have now.

I'm buying stuff for "me" after all responsibilities regarding bills and family and saving have been taken care of, and I save up for my purchases. I'm also not constantly buying bags, I got most of them as presents because my family knows that I love leather anything, and bought even fewer for myself, but I think after the next one I'll stop.
But then bags and leather accessories and shoes are my only sartorial weakness. I live in jeans and tshirts, and i rarely shop for anything else.
:) Credit cards are evil, unless you pay them off in full each month

Yes. We are always playing the credit card fame it seems. Sigh.

33, working professional (CPA working for a large music company), i buy 1-3 bags a year. some from the stores on Rodeo. Some from reputable resellers like Yoogi's or Real Deal. I just bought a nice house last year (in LA) so trying to curb for a bit or at least buy 2nd hand. Also I sell bags if they aren't getting use. This helps, although generally the new bag I'm buying costs more than the bag going out the door. :)

Tax returns! And bonuses but I don't get very many.

Also I allow myself 20% of my paycheck for "pocket money" which if I don't spend it all on drinks, t/a lunches and coffee, I'll save for designer items. I don't own a cc at all.

I'm 23, a recent graduate and not working yet. I rarely -if ever- pay full price for bags, I usually get them pre-loved or during sales. How often I buy them depends on if I come across a bargain, sometimes it's 2 bags a year and sometimes it's a few bags a month. I don't spend much on clothes, shoes etc at all, bags are my only weakness. I would never go into debt to get them though.

I'm still in school so my parents/allowance.

They don't really check how much I spend per month, as long it isn't sky high, so I manage to save/siphon $500-$1000 a month and every 3-4 months I'll get myself a bag. :P

Also my parents and aunt gift me bags once in a while.

My boyfriend can't afford my expensive hobby yet, but I don't mind. I'm not dating him for bags! XD

Only buy bags (and clothes) from my bonuses, nothing from actual salary.
So no real budget for the year, just depends on much bonuses I get :)
I also tend to save any cash gifts I get and put that towards my bag budget.

I used to buy all my luxury items myself when I worked..now that jobs are a rare thing here, my husband buys them for me on anniversaries, birthdays etc :smile1:

We don't own any credit cards or have any debt and we believe in spoiling ourselves with money that is left over after we've taken care of our bills :)
