Ok I don’t wanna sound terrible but I’ve seen tourists being offered mini K in croc and Constance previously in that store. Not locals. The tourist for the Constance was very demanding and even ended up not getting the bag… and the mini K croc tourist was trying to bargain on the price ahaha. Were they VIP’s ? I don’t know

When I’ve asked for Constance I was told it only works by wishlist…I am local and just started my H « journey » recently.. so I do guess there is a game to play.

Hi yes, he gave me his card with his number on it on. I got one non- quota bag from this SA and he took my wishlist (Kelly bag) on my first visit. Messaged my SA for the items that I am looking for and if we can make an appointment for my next visit but to no avail. Second visit, came as a walk-in and different SA assisted me and got another non-quota bag but I said hi to my original SA. Then third visit, assisted with different SA again. I’m shy or I don’t want to be pushy to message my SA again because I know they can be very busy but yeah, I want a B/K/C bag but I don’t know how does it works here- if building a relationship with an SA matters.
I feel you. If that makes you happy: your SA gave you his number on his card… mine only has the email on and he doesn’t even bother answering my email..

I do understand they’re busy but I don’t understand the meaning of distributing cards if we are ghosted through messages.. it leaves somehow an uncomfortable relationship if we see the SA at the store.. don’t know?

I don’t want to dispute your experience but I wonder, how do we know they’re tourists or not in such an international cities? I wonder because my store is the same: people gets bags, but I don’t know if they’re locals or tourists.

As for the email, I hear you. My SA doesn’t reply to my emails but I understand she’s busy and she delivers bags. So far, I am happy. But of course, everyone has their own preference and experience. Thanks for sharing.

Well, the one that was offered the mini croc K was from the Middle East in abaya (as they are expected usually in summer).

The Constance was offered to an Asian lady who was explaining that she was going to Paris for few days to try her luck there too and then leave from Switzerland back to her home country.
The SA even proposed her to email her before she comes back to check if she has more stock to offer.
So, they were tourists yes.

Your recommandation is to go in-store and explain what i would like to buy at the entrance and wait to be assisted by another SA every time?
I did put a wish with the first SA back in September but he ghosted me somehow this last time I visited and he is the only one that can adjust/change my wish.

Sincerely I am lost… thought of buying items online but I prefer the boutique experience. It’s much nicer than having a package delivered.

Ouch. That’s tricky. Geneva right? I am wondering if you’d not be better off shopping at other smaller store (Lausanne?). I wonder if Geneva is the Swiss version of FSH, given the size and no. of tourists. I think that store is the flagship (or ZH?). They do give impersonal vibes and terribly busy. I find it’s the same vibe in ZH.

My SA encourages me to come to store, place online order, then get the order delivered to store. That way, I get what I want and they know me. Can that be a strategy? It’s dumb, as I have to go twice but I get known AND if I don’t like the item, item doesn’t fit or is problematic, I can leave it in the store.

I’ve been really2 lucky but I also know my experience is perhaps unique. I don’t buy many bags and I ask for unpopular sizes. I do understand that it’s perhaps not a reflection of the norm.

ETA on email. I notice, at least w my SA, if they don’t have the goods, they don’t respond. Otherwise, I am asked to go to the store to pick the item. Also, no reply on appointment or other topics. So sometimes, I just show up and be attended by others available. I see it as a bonus as they all know me now

Yes GVA and I thought of going to Lausanne but I am not sure how that works, will I have to make a new wish and « loose » the months of my wish with the GVA store?
I am also not interested in the mini K or the 25 ones which are so sought after. And I never ask for B or K.

I do have a beautiful collection of bags which I am happy with but just recently got bitten by the H bee. I (luckily) get what I want with other brands SA’s which are always super nice and responsive. As a local I did not know that it would be that difficult to communicate with H SA’s in here. I sincerely thought that the last SA was very kind and that we really clicked but The fact that he did not give me his number on the card and that he didn’t answer my emails made it bitter to me in a sense… I took that personally somehow as this never happened with others brands SA’s. It is nice to have others feedbacks in here and not feel alone lol.
I just realized… is the only way to go to the store in abaya and pretend to be a tourist lol?!

IMO, SA’s are there to respond (negative or positive) to customers requests.
My husband says, life is too short to worry about H SA’a relationships and somehow is trying to convince me to stop buying at H..

Anyways I will go to the store and see if we can order the items I want. They’re available online and i did wish to have a boutique experience though so let’s see

I agree with Hlover88 - let the SA assist YOU. You’ll get your wish list items.
When I lived in CH I decided I wanted a black kelly & worked with a SA in Lausanne. I was impatient and was going to Paris on holiday and told my SA I would try in Paris. I happily rec’d the bag I wanted on holiday and about a month later my Swiss SA called to offer me a kelly.
Don’t worry about the process. I saw women in tears not offered bags in Paris - it shouldn’t be an upsetting transaction.

While there many not be as much ‘game’ to play in CH, I think no SA wants ‘high maintenance’ clients, since they are not short of clients. In my first visit, the SA I got assigned to gave me her business card at the end with her email. She asked me to email her. She ordered a belt for me as they didn’t have my size in stock. So after it arrived I emailed her to make an appointment to pick it up and for her to punch holes in my belt. Easy appointment as a follow up. That’s how all it started. After a few months of consistent visit, she finally gave me her WhatsApp after me asking for easier coordination. She told me she doesn’t like to give her WhatsApp to new people she met as some gave her a lot of requests and questions over WhatsApp, eg screen shots and screen shots of items for her to check store availability. She can’t manage these so she has to ghost these clients. In the past, I would also receive no response if there’s no stock or if the question is relating to how long one item will be available. If they don’t know, they’d just not reply. Over time I also learn to determine what questions to ask over email/WhatsApp, and what to ask in person. (Kind of like dating! Lol)

If I were you, I would email the first SA again with a short email asking for an appointment to check out the new scarf collection. Give him the time you can make (did you ask which days he’s off?). And see what happens. When seeing him again, tell him that you were dropping by the store hoping to shop with him but yob happened to be randomly assigned to someone else. That’s not your intention. That’s probably how I would play it. I’m sure others have suggestions as well. I think it’s a bit early to give that up. The early phase of the SA relationship helps shape the future so make it easy for both of you. Hope it’s helpful in some ways.

I confirm that this is also my experience and process. You explain it much better

By “bait” you’re referring to fine jewelry/watch/RTW/homeware, correct? I’m sure diversifying my purchase shows appreciation of the brand, but perhaps not as crucial as in other countries. Perhaps the SA here have an individual sales target where each category has equal weight? (I used to set sales targets for sales people in another industry, so I’m probably too analytical :P)

I’m also very intrigued by how the wish list system works here. After a few visits, I brought up the intention to build my wish list. Then i was offered a special appointment for that, that’s a few months down. It seems like a way to ‘distribute’ or pace out the wishes, but also add precision (how Swiss!) to the wish list curation. Is this aligned with your experience here?
Hi! I have asked for a leather goods appointment in Zurich before Christmas this year and was offered a Kelly depeche 25 pouch which is totally not my style. I’ll be here for another month or so and have I wish to get a Constance at least. I might come again in summer as I fell in love with Lucerne lake and its surrounding areas and I see myself coming here so often.

I can boost my profile with jewelry but I have not seen any at the Zurich boutique only costume. Any ideas how I can BK in short time?

They’re terrible honestly. I’m a tourist and I bought merchandise close to the price of a quota bag within two months of shopping.
Yet when I asked for non-quota bags that are offered with no prior record in other boutiques (like Halzan and Evelyn), they claim that they don’t any have shipments. I find it hard to believe.

I’m still in CH and was willing to buy more of the jewelry and RTW items that I like but their attitude has put me off. Good luck to the locals!

I wanted to share my experience in Zurich, this is my local store, I was in the store last week and I must say it has been a really good experience.

I discussed some of my preferences for a quota bag with the SA who was really friendly and said that she can’t guarantee anything but would try her best.

I also mentioned that I was interested in a Herbag and after some more info, she went into the store room and offered me a Herbag 31 which was stunning and I gladly purchased.

I was really hesitant since the store has many negative reviews online but I must say I felt really appreciated and overall I had a positive experience.

Thanks for sharing! May I ask what time in the day did you go? I often have no luck with non quota bag. (I did decline one before) My SA asked me to come in the morning, but it’s challenging with my work schedule.
