Thanks for sharing! May I ask what time in the day did you go? I often have no luck with non quota bag. (I did decline one before) My SA asked me to come in the morning, but it’s challenging with my work schedule.
It was a Friday morning, right after they opened. I did make an appointment beforehand with my SA.

The store was packed though! Many people waiting, I saw a lady complain about her waiting time (I assume she walked in).

But several people got offered non quota bags like a garden party and picotin.

How is the Basel store handling things in 2023? Can I just walk in and say I’d like a Birkin 30 in a blue color and they will take my name down?
Hello, this is not feasible in Zurich. You have to call them and arrange an appointment by phone. Maybe they have the same process for Basel. If you want to be sure than I recommend to call them  I was told by someone that they have blocked popular colors such as gold or black for the moment because they waiting list is too long. But I can't confirm this, good luck

What is your current experience with waiting for you wish in Zurich? Do you have to play the H game and buy lots? I bought a pair of shoes in January and got a wish appointment with a different SA a few days ago! I got to try on Birkins and pick my colors and leather … though I am new to the Zurich store I wonder what my odds are given I just purchased 1 thing, should I purchase more?

Hello,

I’ll be visiting Geneva this weekend for the Watches and Wonders event and was planning to try my luck for the mini Lindy. Is this a popular model in Switzerland? Do you think my chances are slim?

A side note, is it safe to wear my Birkin in Geneva? I have never visited before so any input will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

I used to visit Geneva frequently for work and had also lived there on a short posting. It is generally safe, but petty crime such as pickpockets are quite common. A Swiss colleague’s wife was pickpocketed on the tram and another colleague had his wallet snatched in broad daylight. If you will be carrying your birkin open, make sure it is always in front of you or keep your valuables safely on your person. Have a good trip!

Update: I called them and they have told me that the changed the rules. You have to go to the boutique and ask there for an appointment. It is no more feasible to arrange an appointment by phone. The current waiting time for an appointment is around 1 month. Maybe they changed this because it is now harder to arrange an appointment.

This is not that bad. Last year I waited 2-3 months for my wishlist appointment.

This is indeed better. Did you receive already a bag? My friend who did purchase a very small amount received her bag one year after the appointment. But I was told that usually you need to purchase several items...
Quota bag - not yet. Non quota bag - yes! I was even offered an SO, but nothing (my wish and SO) have arrived yet.

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and recently started my H journey in Zurich so I wanted your advice. I met an SA several weeks ago by picking up an online order. I bought some items with her aside of this order and asked for her business card. Last week I arranged an appointment with her so was the second time I saw her. And at the end of our appointment she told me that next time I should NOT write her an email for an appointment and just stop by the boutique and ask for her otherwise if all SA’s have an appointment there will be long waiting lines outside or something like that. Also I was looking for another item and she ordered it online and told me when it comes to the boutique I don’t need to specifically call for her I can get help from another SA. When I asked can I email her if I want a specific item she said it makes no sense bc she can’t reserve anything without a prepay. All in all I left with a weird feeling that she doesn’t care much about me as a client. I didn’t want to mention my K desire at the very first meeting and during the second one I realized that it just doesn’t make sense. So I wanted your advice - is it a normal practice that SA is telling all of that or do I feel it right and she doesn’t care much if I am her customer in the future or not? And what would you do in this situation - would you change SA or try further? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Welcome! What you experienced, esp those highlighted in bold, is normal for Switzerland. Shops here operate very differently from those in other continents and from what you read generally in TPF. Nothing personal.

I can say this though: once you’ve established yourself as a valued and SERIOUS customer, they’re more open to reserving items or even wishlist of B or K.
In my experience, SAs here help each other. Bag wishlist for B or K is linked to a particular SA but I don’t bother my principle SA for other things like online purchases, shoes, scarfs, even RTW.

I would recommend you to continue with her and mention your Kelly wish as she has met you a few times. K and B are given on wishlist basis. It will take a while and you might need a wishlist appointment but they are used to this request.

HTH and good luck!

ETA: I imagine the shops in non-german speaking kantons, plus those in tourist areas such as St. Moritz might operate even more differently.
