Maybe take this to the Swiss thread and we can discuss more here? I am also curious and would love to hear more. This is interesting. I’m new to Hermes in Switzerland where I live now. Do the SA not have individual target or commission? Is the maintaining a successful relationship with a Swiss SA not the same as in the US, i.e. helping my SA to succeed to achieve win-win? The rule of thumb of fine jewelry/watch/RTW as high-commission items - does it apply to Switzerland? The Swiss Hermes system is a mystery to me. I have so many questions…
The Hermes Switzerland board seems awfully quiet and I can’t find relevant info. If anyone is familiar with the Swiss system, I’d love to learn!
By “bait” you’re referring to fine jewelry/watch/RTW/homeware, correct? I’m sure diversifying my purchase shows appreciation of the brand, but perhaps not as crucial as in other countries. Perhaps the SA here have an individual sales target where each category has equal weight? (I used to set sales targets for sales people in another industry, so I’m probably too analyticalMaybe take this to the Swiss thread and we can discuss more here? ETA: I think the 'baits' don’t work here in Switzerland and I doubt the SA rely on commissions as much as in other parts of the world. BUT, like any other businesses, they value loyal, LT and preferably high spending customers. Just not as blatant.
Yes. I also wonder if this is store specific - if I recall correctly, dropping a bomb in holiday-destination stores might result in popular bags suddenly materializing. But it might’ve been a long while ago.By “bait” you’re referring to fine jewelry/watch/RTW/homeware, correct?
I think so. I had to wait for around 1 year after the receipt of my K to be able to place another wish list. They did mention about taking turns and enjoying the bag before having another one. I personally think it makes sense and I love this system. It seems like a way to ‘distribute’ or pace out the wishes, but also add precision (how Swiss!) to the wish list curation
Thank you so much! So very helpful!Yes. I also wonder if this is store specific - if I recall correctly, dropping a bomb in holiday-destination stores might result in popular bags suddenly materializing. But it might’ve been a long while ago.

I hope others will jump in. I was encouraged by a few OGs when I started so here’s hoping to this thread being more active. I read here recently that there are new Hermes aficionados (not only tourists) but they’ve again disappeared.
ETA: the Swiss stores don’t play games: if they give you special appointments for bags, rest assured that you will get the appointment AND the bag. It might just take sometime.
Yes, you can.Hi everyone, I am just starting my Hermes journey. Does anyone of you know whether I can make a wishlist for a B30 without having a purchase history in Switzerland? I am specifically interested in the Basel store. I have a local address (Germany but very close to the Swiss border, Basel is the nearest store, so I guess that would count as a local address?).
It’s best that you visit the store and ask (even if that means visiting the store multiple times). It’s never crowded and they are very nice and kind and will make sure you’re attended to.Thank you for your answer. Does anyone know whether they give out appointments at the moment and how long in advance I have to book an appointment? In one of the German boutiques I was told that it wasn‘t possible to ask for an appointment before mid of January 2023 and there was no guarantee that I would be offered an appointment.
Timing sounds about right. Just walk in to the store to make an appointment to curate your wish list.Thank you for your answer. that’s also my questionHi, I live in Switzerland and there‘s an H boutique in my city. To get a togo Birkin 30 within 10 months and very few purchases over the last 10 years, how impossible is it? Would I just walk in without an SA and tell them?

Actually you should try. If you are locals, they will entertain you. I doubt the SAs will laugh. SAs here are generally very polite, professional and nice.that’s also my questiondon’t they just laugh at you?! I‘m afraid to do it… lol
you are right - what can they do?! lol the only thing is NO and that’s it. I‘ll give it a try next time I‘m in the cityActually you should try. If you are locals, they will entertain you. I doubt the SAs will laugh. SAs here are generally very polite, professional and nice.
Of course, they might pull the same excuses like everywhere: waiting list is full, might have to make appointments for wish list and none until later, etc etc. But you might be lucky. I did.
Hope it helps.
