I’m also a local of Basel and have been frequenting the boutique on and off for years. I agree that the customer service is a bit like how you describe, which is not too different from LV across the street. Having said that, if you have specific objectives and wishes when you go to the shop, you should let them know. Then they are laser focused to help you and the service is great. When you are just browsing, they are less focused in helping you. As you know the store is incredibly small and most items are not on display, so you need to know what you want. I think you have to show you are a serious customer. Many times when I am in there, the few customers that come in, they mostly come in to browse and leave. When there is a serious customer in search for something, I notice a big difference in behavior. Also, if I go to the boutique, I tend to buy something. I usually won’t go in just to browse. I do my homework in advance of going. I only recently started working with a SA but she is also fine if one of her colleagues helps me if she’s busy or not around.
