maryg1, i love your avatar! :p and i kind of agree with kelly_birkin... sometimes if you let go for awhile, you'll be surprised at how quickly circumstances swing your way. i've been everywhere on the financial scale, from nearly homeless to flush with cash, just because of circumstances beyond my control. i stopped trying to control things, but made sure to maintain savings for emergencies and insure everything, and set a little bit side so i could fund things that made me happy (bags, dinners out, whatever). happy birthday, by the way :D.

allanrvj, lol at your Danish boy comment. sounds like you're having a good time :graucho:. do you speak Danish?

luvbirkin
, congratulations on your gold kelly!!! you must be so excited! do you think you'll still want a birkin though? there are times when i see something on eBay, or i'll see a different style Hermes bag that is much cheaper than a birkin/kelly, and think i should buy that simply because it's cheaper, but then i realized that in the end i would still want my BJ birkin, so i forgo the purchase. but if you're sure you'll love your kelly and won't still want the birkin, then CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!! :yahoo:

ok, completely off-topic, but whenever i see BJ here (a lot of ppl use it to abbreviate for blue jean) i ... well... i think of something else. :shame:

Hey ladies of the TPF.....question for you. I came back from Las Vegas last week, and visited the H store at Bellagio. I walked in wanting to talk to an SA, and learn more about Hermes (brand, product line etc...) and was armed with all the wonderful knowlege that's been shared here.

The SA I did end up talking to was amazed at what I knew, and she even asked if I've been to Purseblog, and I said "Absolutely!". :p So we spoke for about 45 min, and I told her that I would like to slowly build up my collection, starting with scarves, agendas, and eventually move up to wallets and of course my first orange box. She even showed me a gorgeous Kelly wallet with contrast stitching. Honestly, I was ready to whip out my credit card then and there!

I gave her my info, and she gave me her email and business card. I emailed her right away when I got back to my room at Caesar's Palace (I had my work laptop with), thanking her for her time.

She hasn't emailed me back yet. Did I commit an unsaid rule of developing a "purchasing" relationship with a Hermes SA? Does anyone have an SA at the Las V Hermes I can contact?

I don't know of any "unsaid rule". maybe your SA is just busy.

ask peanutbabycakes. she's a regular client at the Las Vegas boutique, I think.

Yes, I'm having a good time here. Weather is good and plenty of eye candy around, especially now that summer is near and they are wearing less clothes. Hot Danish boys in tank tops (or shirtless) are mouth-watering.

(I am so gay: I like handbags and cute boys. UGH. I'm such a stereotype. LOL)

I speak a little Danish, only when buying stuff or ordering food. I'm still in the early stages of my Danish lessons.

And I agree, I think of the same thing whenever I see "BJ Birkin". And "vibrato" sounds funny, too.

allan, for some reason i feel like i need to justify the trajectory of my thoughts: i have a background in molecular biology, and "BJ fibroblasts" are cells taken from fetal human foreskin.... :p

anyway, i'm sure you're not alone in copenhagen for being obsessed with bags and boys. i imagine everyone in copenhagen to be super fashion-forward because the 2 people i know from denmark are SUPER trendy and are always completely, perfectly put together, makeup, handbag, and everything. they also work crazy hours, so i don't know how they do it. :shrugs:

ok, back to topic. i just got the tracking number for one of my bag purchases!! it should arrive saturday or sunday. i'm trying to decide whether i should wait for both bags to arrive before doing a reveal (the second bag will probably arrive in late june or early july) or just do one now?

Thank you BlueGenes! I think that I'll pay a visit to my closest Hermes store after the next paycheck, just to cheer me up!

You are too funny! :p I know what you are talking about though...

Back to topic. I have been making all kind of plans today. I have a feeling that my first H bag is closer than ever but I can´t be too happy yet. I just have to wait and see...

ooh dear BlueGenes H bags is always never enough ("never say never" applies here!). At the moment I'm happy with my collection, probably I wnn't get a birkin with colours / combination I already had, but who knows?

I wish you every luck in acquiring your blue jean birkin. That's the ultimate bag you should own (no kidding coz that's my first one!). No worries if you feel :shame: when you see BJ, it's better than you !!

And yey longing for your reveal!

BlueGenes, Blue Jean is a true H classic that will never go out of style. :)

I hope so, cuz I've been bad. :blushing: What do you think of a blue jean bolide? Maybe you should get yours earlier rather than later... you know, wanton multiple price increases and all :graucho:

hahah, luvbirkin, you're totally right, never say never! what was i thinking? but at least the gold kelly will tide you over until your gold birkin, right? :p when can we expect to see her?

re: Danish men - I was there (Copenhagen and Aalborg) in October of '06 and I was completely blown away at how attractive, well-groomed, and well-dressed the men were. Even in Aalborg, which is far from a cosmopolitan destination...

I loved Copenhagen though. Gorgeous, and full of good shopping. And everyone was super super nice.

I bet the weather there is lovely this time of year. I would love to go back! :p

BlueGenes, I love how you think!! :)

Unfortunately, as much I would love to max out
my charge card and just 'go for it', I have to wait.
I have too many bills that I need to pay. And I'm not
looking forward to my upcoming student loans next year.

Hopefully, I will have a nice new career waiting for me
at the end of the school tunnel. ;)

and yes, I would love a Blue Jean (rigide) Bolide. :)
