Maybe. :p

But seriously, a nice dinner out, or a movie, or a new dress--anything that would make you think and feel that you're not worried so much about losing money would make the "bad luck" go away. Trust me, it works.

thank you allanrvj, tomorrow it's my b'day, I hope to fully enjoy it!

The same thing happens with me. Whenever I save up for something, bad things happen and expenditures keep piling up.

The solution: spend more and don't think about money. It will come to you as it did to me.

That is a nice way of thinking. I just realised today that I have already this year spent an Evelyne and a Dogon worth of money to travelling. Why can´t I just be interested in one subject at a time???

i hear you... but we end up prioritizing what makes us most antsy at the moment until we get it out of our systems. :p for what it's worth, the Evelyne and the Dogon will always be around, but travel, with the friend or friends you want to go with, and the time you have to do so, or the health you need to move around, may not always be there. thanks for sharing some of your travel photos, by the way. i love your ducks :p.

on another topic, isn't it hard looking at the reveal threads and the hermes-in-action? i just put myself on a bag ban until 2011 (not really much of a ban, considering how much i spent this year) but i can't stop looking at everyone's bags... i totally believe in quality over quantity and wouldn't run out and buy everything that looks pretty, but sometimes i SO wish i could :p

I agree. When I went to Paris two years ago, I kinda felt sorry for those old people huddled together touring Paris. I know I should be happy for them but I just thought I don't want to be as old as them before I see the world.

This year I won't be traveling because it's in the Danish laws that for the first year you're employed in Denmark, you don't get paid vacation leaves. You can have vacations, of course, but you won't get paid. After a year of working, you'll get the regular VLs: 5 weeks a year.

Five effing weeks of vacation. I love Europe.

P.S.
I come from Asia.

Wow! You remember my ducks! We were feeding them and suddenly they started to fight with each other. We walked away. Quickly. :p

I just read your blog. You did some major shopping! I wouldn´t mind a bag ban after that. :graucho:

You are right. I really want to see the world before I have to start living like an adult. I dont´t have kids or mortgage to worry about so I can do what I want. I don´t have a paid vacation either but I have worked a lot this year. Where do you come from?

Eulalia, you definitely don't want to get in the way of fighting ducks! :p They might take it out on you!

Thanks, about the bag ban! :D I think I'm actually feeling very content right now with my bag collection. I thought a lot about what bags I would like in an "ideal" (for me) bag collection, and the Kelly and the Birkin complete it perfectly. Now I have a few bags/items from each of my favorite brands, and also a bag/color/style for every occasion that I need. :p So though I'll be sorely tempted every day by this forum, I know I won't give in because I already have everything that I want.

Until 2011, of course. :graucho:

I would like to share my experience of "changing targets".

I've been longing for a Gold Birkin with GHW for years. My local H store did call me from time to time but only those with PHW came up. Last month I saw an unused 30cm at a reseller but it costs almost USD11,000. My hometown is known to be lacking of Birkins (I bet Mr. Lau never get his here!) and closest place with greatest chance I can get one (from H store) is Japan, or when friends travelling to France.

At that moment I almost fell crazy. DH was with me, though he always support (moral and $-wise) me getting H bags, he said the money asking for is outrageous, and the fact that the authenticity of the bag is not fully guaranteed. I cooled off and reclaim my posture....

Last sunday I finally got the call from my SA telling me there is a 35cm gold kelly with GHW in the shop. I considered, and decided the costs of a Kelly is more sensible than a Birkin under the current economy, so I took it, and believe I've made the right choice.

The Philippines. And now I live here in Copenhagen.
Where Danish boys are hot.
And there's an Hermes store.

:p

P.S.
For my post to be relevant on this thread, MsReya told me last night that it took her almost a year from wanting the bag to getting it (her new Picotin). I'm giving myself a year. Starting July. ;)

mary, sometimes I think if one doesn't think about these things, it'll happen eventually. Just save a little bit here and there.
Happy Birthday!! :)

BlueGenes, I love reveal threads. :)
I'm happy for people who get their dream bags,
and it's a good way to learn more about leathers, colors,
and styles*.

*on the rare chance, it's not a Birkin, Kelly, Bolide, Constance, etc.

LuvBirkin, Good for you! That's great. :)

Hey ladies of the TPF.....question for you. I came back from Las Vegas last week, and visited the H store at Bellagio. I walked in wanting to talk to an SA, and learn more about Hermes (brand, product line etc...) and was armed with all the wonderful knowlege that's been shared here.

The SA I did end up talking to was amazed at what I knew, and she even asked if I've been to Purseblog, and I said "Absolutely!". :p So we spoke for about 45 min, and I told her that I would like to slowly build up my collection, starting with scarves, agendas, and eventually move up to wallets and of course my first orange box. She even showed me a gorgeous Kelly wallet with contrast stitching. Honestly, I was ready to whip out my credit card then and there!

I gave her my info, and she gave me her email and business card. I emailed her right away when I got back to my room at Caesar's Palace (I had my work laptop with), thanking her for her time.

She hasn't emailed me back yet. Did I commit an unsaid rule of developing a "purchasing" relationship with a Hermes SA? Does anyone have an SA at the Las V Hermes I can contact?
