Sarah, thank you for sharing the journey of your quest for your 1st Birkin. I am touched by your sharing. You are only in your midst 20, there are many years for you to build your H collection. Take your time and enjoy the journey. You work so hard and save to buy your birkin which I think is an admirable act.

However, do remember there are also other priorities in life such as investment in property , car, children, eduction, healthcare..... Blah blah blah, I risk sounding like your mother now...:)

I only started my chanel collection at 40 and H at 42. Even though I started late, but with enough saving and investment, I catch up with my collections in accelerated mode.

What I am trying to say is your birkin will find you. You deserve the best your heart desires. Look after your health so that you have many many more years ahead to enjoy them!

100% agree! Do not stress. You also shouldn't be treated as you are right now by the Hermes employee. Yelling is not appropriate ever! You are a customer! I hope all goes well and you get your dream bag soon. If not, keep saving! You have plenty of time to realize your dreams.

Massai cut was not offered in the last podium so it will be quite difficult for you to get one from boutique from now on. But with Hermes, one can never tell. They may offer it in future. Otherwise eBay will be your option.
Thank you for the intel! That's discouraging, but I hope something will magically turn up when I am ready for it. Do you happen to know whether it's difficult to get it anywhere, or just within the UK? Would I possibly have a better chance somewhere in Europe?

Silversun- I don't know where you live but I have seen a few Massai at The Mall at Short Hills. They have one there now. I wish you all the best and saving and planning is what allowed me to get my bags. Definitely worth the wait. Good luck!
Thank you for the luck! I'm in London so we do have a few boutiques and concessions here, but unfortunately I haven't seen any yet. I occasionally travel to the States, so hopefully if I can't get it here I may have better luck over there. :smile1:

They are not offered at all but some might show up unexpected. I tried to place an podium order of a Massai for my friend (who was heavily preganent at the time) last year and I was told they were not offered. I think they weren't offered for two seasons now. I haven't seen them in stores for a while. Like most of the things with Hermes, you never know one may show up at some point somewhere. Good luck with your search. I do see a few pre-owned ones every now and then.

Hi, I'm also a Hermes newbie. I use to frequent the LV forum and Chanel before that. I'm not really bag obsessed and there are days that I don't even use a bag. but there's a few bags that I really would love to have and that I dream of passing on to my dd. I've just started getting into H this year and own a few items that I've shown in my reveal. I would love to own a gm shawl and my HG of kelly 32 rouge casaque or any other red in clemence with ghd. ( the same as the one in the first page of young and in love, so please id it for me). Anyhow, I don't think I would be able to afford the Kelly anytime soon because I'm a stay at home mum at th moment and we are planning to have another baby. My priorities are my family and right now, I'm content stalking this thread and enjoying everyone's lovely items. Thank you so much ladies for being so nice, generous with your knowledge, and being genuinely happy about other people's purchases and extraordinary finds!

Staring my journey.... Anyone currently saving?

I am! I'm new to Hermes too. I've been a huge fan of Chanel and one day I just happen to stop by the Hermes thread and here I am.. Wanting all sorts of bags...I have a few of the clic clac's but I was never into the bags.

Anyways, I'm currently trying to save up for a lindy 30 :) I'm going to get the Chanel cerf tote at the end of September and then I'll be officially saving up for lindy. I'm hoping it won't take too long. I have my name down for a lindy 30 in either red or blue electrique. Do any of u guys know if those are popular colors and if I'll be in the list for awhile? After the lindy I'll be saving up for a Kelly 32 togo in either a tan color or grey color.

Should I be putting my name down for a Kelly now too? I'm planning on getting the Kelly maybe beginning of 2015?

I am too! Just recently started eyeing a kelly and am thinking of selling some of my other bags to fund one...not sure if I should try to get it from a boutique or go the re-seller route since I've never bought anything from hermes before and don't have an established relationship with any SAs. What are you saving for?

I want a kelly 32 too! In etaine, gris t or etoupe. Did they say how long you have to wait for the lindy?

No.. The guy said that he'll give me a call whenever they get either of those colors in stock. I wanted to get some insight on how long usually it takes for red or blue electrique.

I want the Kelly in gris t too! Haha

I am going to go Pre-Loved for my first. Much cheaper that way! I am saving for a Birkin 30. I will be selling CL's and some Bags to help fund! After I buy the Birkin, then will start my journey into belts, etc with an SA. I'm too impatient to do it the other way around :p

I would go ahead and put your name down for a Kelly. Better to be safe than sorry!

I wanted to update people on my situation. I am still on the wait list for my Birkin. I went to Paris and while others were told there were no bags, a guy took me to a more private corner checked his computer and showed a blue jean togo birkin in 30 which in the end I was not in love. He said I could come back but my SA assistant called that day to confirm she had my belt 32 mm box/ toggo noir/ etoupe cdc boucle ceinture. It took 3 months getting the leather combination since they had to order it. I decided to stick with the more experienced SA assistant. As for Paris, i feel if you dress up, go with amazing confidence you may end up with a Kelly or Birkin. I went at 4 pm. It is better to go earlier in the morning and a couple of times.
For now, finger crossed, wish me luck I get this bag. I have a feeling it may be soon. I keep getting reassured it won't be january, that's when the new list opens.

Next time I update you ladies, hope I will have her next to me.

Thank you for the support and listening to (reading) my crazy stories.

I am from Singapore and currently on a tour in Europe. Been to Munich and Salzburg so far on my hunt for a lindy 30. No luck!

Munich, i went two days at abt 4pm... the bag shelves are the same. No updates. And the SA said what they have on shelves were what they have.

Salzburg. It was a Sat but closed... I went about 12pm. Maybe Austrians dont work on a Sat because the whole street was closed maybe except some cafes and souvenirs shops.

Tomorrow I am heading to Budapest where they is no H store, and thereafter Prague, where prices are 15-20% higher than Paris. But if I meet my dream bag there, I dont mind spending the extra, because no matter what, the bag prices are still cheaper than where I come from. Thereafter Prague, will be Paris. Which the chances are not getting any better...

Will update this space soon again.

I've also just moved to Amsterdam from London and have been to the PC Hooftstraat store once already. Does anyone know a good SA here?
