Thank you bagidiotic and doves75!

Met my H angel SA in Prague yesterday and she sold me a BJ Lindy 34 clemence. Honestly, the 34 and bright color wasnt what I really wanted at first... but she said, she hadnt seen a Lindy in stores for weeks so I am really lucky. And the Lindy was originally reserved for a customer till 3pm. So I can only cross finger and come back at 3pm to see if I am lucky.

I guess I am fated for this lovely Bleu Jean so home it is coming with me... As I am typing this, I am waiting for my flight to Paris. Hope to score scarves there and visit the mothership!

Hello all.

As of today, I will be restarting my birkin saving journey. I had quite a few scarves in the past but sold them all. Silly me! I did have the money 15 years ago , on the list for a beautiful orange Birkin but life got in the way. Gosh, the 35Birkin was around $5000 AUD back then. For me, at the time just 2 months salary.

Now, after having acquired a couple of Chanel HG's. my journey with Chanel is complete. Not to mention the LUDICROUS price hikes and prices of the classic flaps right now.

I'm closer to 41 than 40, in a great place in life and a trip to Europe is on the cards for July 2014 with hubby and kidlets. So.. Time to squirrel away the $ now and see if I can acquire the elusive Birkin at the boutique in Paris.

Wish me luck!

I've been stalking Hermes threads but never had the confidence to post.

hi stylishfarmer! i've really enjoyed reading about everyone's journey in this thread but wanted to reply to you specifically and wish you luck on your hunt for the B (and in europe no less!). like you, i spent many years building and honing my chanel collection when i could have started with my first B or K. had i thought about H bags sooner i would not be in such a predicament now to search for one--i sure wish i had built a relationship earlier with H while it was much easier to order a bag. but it is what it is and i still treasure all of my chanel goodies! just a bummer that it now takes a bit longer to save up for a B/K.

anyway, like you, as i move on from my chanel bag journey toward the orange path i wish you, me, and all the other gals here all the luck to find our dream bags! enjoy the hunt everyone :)

Hi, here I am! I'm new on this forum,so nice to met you! I'm a yung girl and I've started working 2 years ago. I love birkin bags so much but i've never considered to buy one because I could't afford it. So now I'm working harder and I hope I can save up for a birkin and a collier de chien. I won't buy anything else and i will save up. SA told me that waitlist will be open on january and in 6/12 months I can have a birkin!! I'm so excided!
Any tips for saving up?

Tips for saving ?

When out shopping, I ask myself... ' Do I really need it ? ' . If you can honestly answer no, them put the money aside you were going to spend.

Eg. I love reading magazines. I can buy 10 a month if I let myself do that. $150 per month! After accumulating and giving away a lot of them, I'm just left with a hole in my pocket. Not good! So now, everytime I think I have some money to spare on magazines or other little things, I put that money aside. It's amazing how it all accumulates.

Wow, did you purchase alot of small goods in order to be qualify for the waiting list for B? If this is your first B bag and/or first H item, you must be really lucky to be invited for a B.

Along with collecting Hermes and a few other things I collect $5 bills. Everytime I get one in my change it goes into an ice bucket in our china cupboard. My DH is very competitive & tries to put in the most. The money gets bundled in 100s, when there is a $1000 the money goes into a separate bank account.

So nice to see the amounts build up in one place. I've done this for as long as I can remember and it is so nice to always have a stash for luxury items that might be hard to justify. Basically it's my coffee, lottery ticket & impulse money all in one place redirected to a bigger & better cause.

Good luck on your quest, I hope you are able to get the bag of your dreams next year.

I hear you about magazine buys, I spend way too much on magazines, I really have to curb that.

Hello there... Next year it will be my Chinese zodiac year : the year of horse :D

I collected H bracelets in the past but sold all of them. Right now I'm hoping next year on my birthday I can get a 26 or 30 lindy!

I still want to kick myself 8 years ago when I had the opportunity to purchase some H handbags thru the duty free in JFK but I passed ( no money)

Hi everyone - I am brand new on the site but not brand new to bags ;). I have a nice collection however I am just starting my saving for a Birkin 35 Togo in Etoupe. I've also just moved to Amsterdam from London and have been to the PC Hooftstraat store once already. Does anyone know a good SA here? I'm relatively new to Hermes but I have a few beautiful items already.

Its so hard to refrain from buying everything its all so beautiful!

I was in Amsterdam for vacation recently and went to both H stores almost daily. :p Joshua at de Bijenkorf is fantastic! Although I didn't buy anything (they didn't have what I was looking for), he was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend him!
