^^^ Right behind you, geekbabe. Cept I've loved all the French and Italians (Louis, Prada, Balenciaga...) but my mother just came from New York with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL handbag - a 35 raisin box with PHW. And while she would only let me touch it for a few moments, I fell in LOVE.

I must have one. And I must have it soon. I'm about half way there with saving (I was saving up for some other bags, but have decided to devote my funds to H from now on) and I'm fairly sure what I want. I know that most people start with Black and I probably should, especially since winter approacheth, but I have to have a 35 Gold Togo with PHW. I.HAVE.TO. LOLOLOLOLOL

...and it's funny. I never EVER thought I would even like a Birkin. Honestly, I thought it was for older ladies (I'll be 30 in December) and that I would never be able to pull off something so... rigid. But wow, the functionality, the colors, the durability, the LEATHER! TDF. Thank GOODNESS I'm halfway there with the saving or I'd be bonkers right now!

So don't mind me. I'll be lurking and wow-ing at all you Hermes afficiandos!

It's been over 3 years since I posted this.
So much has happened...divorce, moving, marriage, more moving, becoming a mother... Life, you know?
I never got my Gold B...
But I did get a Black 35 and an Etoupe 35 in Clemence.

I had to part with almost all of the Frenchmen and Italians and save my buns off. But in the end, it paid off.
The hunt for the Gold B is still on. As well as some SLGs (I'm going to try and find a Carmen in Bleu Electrique and one in Vert Menthe) and MAYBE a nifty elephant cadena if I can swing it.

I a m waiting (and saving - using Bonus number) for my Kelly. I want a 35 or 40, color is open although Raisin would be a dream! I just asked for a neutral - not Brown. I'm hoping for May! Fingers crossed.

I am going to ask or a SO next. We can dream right? Out store limits you to 1 every 6 months for a b or k so I have time between purchases

It finally happened! I am so over the moon happy and can't stop pinching myself. I was extremely lucky to finally meet an SA who made the impossible, possible. I encourage everyone who are in the same boat as I was to never give up, it will happen .

I'm "saving" a little bit differently. I've had my eyes set on an Etoupe B 30 but I want to feel that I have "earned" it. I won't be actively pursuing my HG until I feel I have reached where I want to be in my career. =) I'm projecting that it could take 5 - 10 years. But I can always look at all the lovely H porn while I patiently wait to be rewarded! I just feel assured that the Birkin is such a classic that it will still carry the same desirability for me years from now.

Everyone was talking about how we need an H Support Group Thread-- IE, for those of us who can't afford our dream bags right now or have to save up for it, this is a thread to talk about it; discuss your dream bag, vent about frustrations in not being able to get it, discuss savings tactics, etc. I know there are a lot of us out there who can't get our dream bag right now and it may be many years before we can, so this is a great way to join with other people in our situation! I was very close to getting my dream Birkin with money from an inheritance from my grandmother, but I'm also house-hunting, and that money should go towards a down payment, really. I'm having to be responsible here, and though I think it's the right decision, it's so hard!

What a wonderful thread to start! I have been thinking about acquiring a Birkin for several years now. I love Hermes - have collected scarves, have the 160 cm Farandole necklace and bracelet that I wear everyday, H enamel bracelets, but I really want a 35cm black Birkin - one of the lighter leathers, with gold or palladian hardware. I'm on the list at my local H boutique, but also looking at the re-sellers as I have been told it is difficult to get black. Other bags of interest - the 26cm SO Kelly and the PM Evelyne III. My major obstacle is having three young kids who cost a lot of money (school tuition, sporting lessons and equipment, music lessons, etc. although they're worth it ), but I have been saving. It's great fun to read others' stories - thanks for sharing.

I am still waiting for my Gold 30 B in Ghw and it has been 9 months. I was offered 3Bs already in different colors in size 35 which I turned down. I am ready to purchase but unfortunately it is not available yet. Patience ...patience..patience. Hunting is still on.

Hi Picabo. I have a 35 Ebene and it seems too big for me despite of its dark color. I have both 30 and 35 Bs and 30 seems the perfect size for my height and frame. The colors offered to me were really nice but my mind is set for the right size . I am also open for other colors , of course in 30, but my #1 choice is Gold in GHW and I'm willing to wait.

Got ya! I was just curious because I am 5'1 and just got my first 30 (which I LOVE) but I could not help but think it was a bit small. I have never tried on a 35 so I did not have a comparison for myself. Thanks for your perspective about sizes!
