I am absolutely thrilled that I just ordered my first vintage Kelly! I decided to go through closet and drawers and sell whatever I don't use on ebay. I was pretty ruthless and pretty quickly I could afford a vintage model. I am now a firm believer in having one good piece that I love and use. It really feels great to streamline my closet, and I even sold random household and kitchen items. I am already saving for my next bag, an Evelyne, a Market, or dare I say a Birkin. Just wanted to share :D

Congrats! I also sold a lot of unused clothes and accessories (bags, shoes, jewelry) recently and used the proceeds towards H bags. I like having fewer things in my closet and I am enjoying the H bags so much more than I enjoyed the things I sold.

Converting to an Hermes devotee has surprisingly made me more conscious of where I spend in other areas.

I agree. In fact, I regretted having bought some of the things I have in the first place and am now thinking much harder about an item before deciding whether to buy it or not.

That's great! Especially if you have authentic designer items, they will do very well. My advice for ebay selling is to take great pictures, be upfront about condition, and block buyers who have negative strikes against them. Honestly, before you know it you will have more than enough for that dream Hermes bag!...and space in your closet!:D

Hey kitkatblue,

Thanks for the advice. Precious. Hugs:hugs:

Will definitely do that. I have way too many stuff that get so little use. Gotta start clearing them out to make space and more funds to support this addiction.....:D.

Hi:

Newbie to H. I have 7 LV bags but no H bags yet. My initiation in the world of H was marked by a recent purchased of a Chic bracelet and scarf. I passed up the opportunity to purchase an Evelyne III PM in orange so that I can save up for my first Birkin/Kelly/Bolide. Who knows how long that will take and whether I will actually take the plunge. Fingers crossed.

That was July 2011.

I now have a little collection of H bags: 2 Birkins, 3 Kellys, Jypsiere, Evelyne, Jige. Patience and saving for your dream H will pay off! Good luck to you all and I enjoy readings all your money saving tips.;)

Mr Muggs, congrats. How wonderful to read about your success story here.

I'm 23 and has been obsessed with Hermes for 3 year. I'm saving up for my very first H bag and hopefully not distracted by Dior/ Chanel anymore :graucho:

I went Paris last year and missed out FSH. I was somehow intimidated by the 'H' and was afraid that I'll get odd stares and rude treatment. So instead, I ventured around for LV, Chanels and Diors and skipped Hermes. Stupid I know :(

Now my main goal for my next trip to Paris would be to get something in an orange box from FSH :D Lindy, Constance... BIRKIN OR KELLY!! I'd learnt a lot from this forum while dreaming for my very first H bag.. who knows how long do I have to wait sigh.

All in all, I would like to thanks to all the kind ladies and gentlemen who had contributed their knowledge and shared their eye candies :hugs:

Hello! My name is T, and I'm 16. I've been in love with the birkin for 2 years already. I know it's pretty far fetched for me, and some may think I'm kinda silly for yearning about something so unattainable since I've barely made any money. The birkin however is a motivation for me to strive hard in school and of course my mother is my motivation as well. I study hard on the sat vocabulary and flipping pages from AP books, so I can maintain good grades, get into a good college, and fulfill my dreams of becoming a pediatrician doctor and of course getting my hands on a birkin bag :). It's not my ultimate motivation, but it is one of my motivations. It'll probably 10 or more years before I get my dream purse which is a Birkin 35 etoupe togo with palladium hardware. Though before, I buy my dream bag, I'll buy my mom a Birkin 35 gold or black with gold hardware because she deserves it way more that I do with all the sacrifices she made. I know my mom's as in love with this bag as I am, though she believes that she'll never get one. It's funny.. how I'm a total cheapskate on other things, but when it comes to purses I'm willing to buy if I have the money. I mean I'm a total coupon clippper and enjoy going on websites like Money saving Mom to find the latest deals on doubling up coupons at Target. I'm only a teenager though. Teehee. Anyways.. for now, I'll study diligently and work my summer job. I'll probably save money for a LV neverfull mm or I'll save for a LV zippy wallet for my mom for Christmas.I have the birkin bag as my screen saver, and I save pictures on my iphone to remind me to strive hard. I'm a total birkin stalker. :) Thanks for letting me share!

Hi greenbeansbuns, thank you for sharing your thoughts and aspiration here. Could imagine that you & your mom are very close, that's so wonderful. I also admire that you are thrifty & logical about your finance ability. Not many teenagers have that quality these days.

Cheers to you for having a set goal, working hard & keeping your motivation going. Being able to provide materials for your mom & yourself is a good motivation. Not forgeting other important non monetary things in life is also key.

I wish you all the best, continue your great work. Before you know it, you will be a successful pediatrician with lots of birkin. :-)

Nice to have a goal at this young an age and to be striving for it. You'll get there, don't give up.
