I do not own one H bag. I collect the scarves and shawls and I would say that this is my H obsession rather than the bags. I appreciate the craftsmanship of H bags (and love the colors), but the only bag I am really interested in is the Bolide. If I added all my scarves and Gms, I would have definitely been able to purchase 2 or 3 Bolides by now! However, I think more and more that if I were to invest in a nice handbag, it would likely be this one. My problem is that every year the new scarves come out and I love them more than saving for a bag! This is a fun thread though, and I am glad that there is a support group for those who are wishing for a dream bag. Hoping you all get your dream bags one day soon! And when you do, there will be much to celebrate on this thread for sure!:balloon:

lanit, are you considering resellers? There are some good deals on Bolides, speaking from experience :D

lil, if I didn't lose my job, I'd be 50% there. I have a credit card with a good limit on it, but I have to keep reminding myself not to charge over the budget. It would be very tempting to go to my nearest H and just buy it. :)
I want to be able to have the money for it first. :)

lanit, there is one website that has a nice Bolide in a light pink color, that no one has bought for MONTHS. It's not my color, but the price is WAY below retail. :) And it's not mou. :)

Bienchen-adore your new yellow B. It is perfect for you-must find you a lovely bee charm for the bag! I was at H store yesterday to see if F?W collection had arrived yet. Noticed a beautiful bouganville 31 bag. Would love a colorful bag-but most of my scarves are bright c/ws. Also saw a beautiful indigo B in 37. I think a 31 would suit me best. The SA's suggested the indigo or graphite for me knowing a bit about my shawls collection. I would love a graphite with a different color interior-does H do this?
Yes, I am open to reputable resellers-price is better, and I do not mind pre-worn if condition is excellent/good.
Kelly - love pink, but I am thinkinf neutral for my first bag,so I can use it all the time. I love bright accessories (wallets, shawls, etc)inside and can dress up with twillies.

Wishing and dreaming....!

lanit, it's good to narrow down first to what you want. ITA, if you wear lots of colourful scarves then a neutral bag will be more versatile especially if it is your one and only H bag. Try both sizes in store to be sure 31 is perfect. Then decide whether you want it to be slouchy or not. That will narrow down the leather selection. I have not heard of it coming in a contrast lining, but you might score a SO either for yourself or someone who has rejected theirs. No harm mentioning to your SA. You could also contact resellers once you have narrowed down your selection. Some bags never make it onto websites, so if you are sure of what you want, you can then fast track. My Bolide is like new, I am sure bag has not been used before but no sale stamp. I think I was just lucky.

Good luck to you, keep me posted my fellow Bolide fan, and good luck to all others waiting (and saving) patiently.

Thought I revive this thread. It is hard to save when a lot of cute little things call your name!

So true!

If I could stop shopping, I would already have my Birkin! Right now I am saving for a Birkin and a Rolex but I keep getting sidetracked by clothes, shoes, sunglasses, jewelry, etc. There are a few H items I want to get this summer. After that, I am putting all of my shopping money directly into my Birkin and Rolex accounts.

HN, I get sidetracked with health and beauty. :)

If I added up every credit card statement, I probably could have an entry level H bag by now. :)

I want a Clic Clac for the holidays. So, I better be good.
I want to see my "local" H (I really don't have a local H, I can pick from a couple on the map, they're all a few hours away) decorated for the winter holidays. :)

I've been an LV and Chanel girl for some time and still love their stuff. Well, I got my first Hermes item last year (etoupe GP) last year because I loved the color and I figured I would never buy a birkin cause it was so outrageously priced. I figured I get a little something hermes handbag (GP) that would satisfy the Hermes bag craving. Well, fast forward 1 year later and I convinced myself somehow that I must have a Birkin and that a Birkin is a good value. Ha!!!!
I proactively sold 75% of my bag collection and thus have the money to get a 35cm Birkin Togo (etoupe or black) and am on 5 wait lists and am going stir crazy obsessed over getting this Birkin. I mean I am totally obsessed! I must have this bag and must have it now! It is absolutely killing me. And then it really makes me so mad when somethign is available but unless you have a relationship, they wont sell it to you. Argh! I guess I'm not understanding the economics here. If someone wants to drop $10k on a bag (over the phone), why would you turn them away? Anyway, just frustrated and hope to see my HG soon!

Hi there everyone

I thought I would come and join you, if that's OK?

I 'just' want my own Kelly. I have borrowed my Gran's box leather 28 Bleu Marine ghw (which lives with my aunt) but my cousin has designs on it. That's fine because I would prefer a BBK 32 anyway and I have another bleu marine H bag.

I am counting pennies but I also have been side-tracked esp with fast disappearing past season scarves (and anything Gucci = :ban::?:). I guess the prob with Gucci is that if you don't get some styles bags/shoes fast they are gone for good so there is always pressure at the beg of the season.

I have about half saved for my Kelly so it all seems so far away ATM. The pressure is really on because I am lucky enough to have my name down by a bag. If the bag comes in and I'm not ready money-wise I will feel really, really sad.

I'm on my way home and have all the temptation of London shops tomorrow (I have been really good in Germany). I need to be strong :ninja:

Be strong papertiger!!

I think most of us know that SLGs, sales and small items will make us get sidetracked.

My advice would be to stay home more often.....and maybe keep a picture of your 'future' kelly near to you so that you can remind yourself that your kelly is coming.

It would definitely be disappointing if it comes in and you don't have enough resources to get it.

Be strong!!!

How great to find this support group. After years of collecting H scarves, I went off the deep end this spring :nuts:and bought: 6 more 90cms, my first 140cm, two necklaces, three scarf rings, and, yes, my first bag--black epsom 37cm Bolide:blushing: (2 die for!!)--but now, the Birkin bug has bitten me...bad.

:banned:
Have put myself on a complete H ban until Labor Day---and then will look at that $$ tree and see if there's enough to shake loose Birkin bucks. Until then, I'm here, looking at everyone's beautiful things and debating every day--size, color, leather, hardware, buy it here at my local store, go to Paris and see what happens? Madison Avenue? Reseller? Ebay?

Oh well, sometimes the journey is as much fun as the destination. Am loving all the beautiful posts--but glad to find this group to help me stay strong:ty::ty:

I can't always stay home because of work and sometimes relatives (I know exactly what you mean though, every meal out, even coffee adds up ) .

I think the pic of the bag is a great idea .

I know so many lovely scarves :graucho:

I plan to use my Gucci Secret flap bag out while in town. It's virtually impossible to open to get my money (or anything else out) and harder to to close :girlwhack:

Maybe we should limmit our scarf buying to 1 for every season, that would also give us something to deliberate over on the way to our goal bags and we wouldn't feel too deprived.
