P-B, thanks for the encouragement. :)

littleblackbag, Welcome!!
I love the terramundi money pot idea.
What a unique way to save. And you can only
use it for a special purchase not bills.

kenzie, When items are that expensive, I suppose
one has to plan a bit. I'd love to know what it's like
to be a VIP and get the bags that the SA's deny
are in the back. ;) I'm glad it's "easier" to acquire a Bolide
in comparison to walking in for a Birkin. And they're
not always on the shelf.

Loving this thread. Wish I had you guys to turn to when DH and I were saving for our house.

Had the option of purchasing an Evelyne first or going the accessories route first and I decided to do the latter. Why? First, I can't make up my mind on the Evelyne or not. The Trim II and the Gao are really calling my name. Second, I switch bags a lot but I use the same accessories no matter which bag I use. So I am using the Evelyne $$ to develop my H garden and I’ve already started a separate savings for the bag. This will allow me exposure to more of the H styles and a chance to do a bit of research on the leathers and colors so my first choice is really an educated one. But in the meantime I won’t feel deprived and do something stupid like buy a bag I don’t REALLY want or go freakin’ crazy when I do purchase my first H bag. Hopefully, with my plan I’ll be able to look in my bag, no matter which one it is, and instantly be reminded of the goal.

It's a very helpful thread!
I'm dying to buy a Bolide(see my signature :shame:). I saw it in December before price increase(genious me!I should get it then because I could) in the store, SA took it out from display and since then I can't forget it! It's like nothing I felt before, the leather, the quality and craftsmanship of every detail... When I told my DH about this bag and its price he almost chocked, but seriously I've learned already that high-end luxury bags such as Hermes tend to outlive their cheaper versions, and in a long run, it is an investment. Last summer I purchased my first expensive H accessory-a Dogon wallet, and I'm hooked.
Finally, I've sold all the bags I'm not wearing anymore, called to the store and hopefully SA will find it for me or I will have to get on their waiting list in July and then to wait 5-6 more months :crybaby:

Valencia, I'm the same way --- I carry most of my purse accessories with me at all times no matter what the purse. Also my H. accessory purcahses are totally separate from my bigger H. savings. At the same time I'm not going to go overboard either. A few twillies, scarves, scarf rings, a Karo and a Bearn wallet, and a Herbag (once I find a colour I want and it's authenticated here) is all I'm going to get. But I like the idea of having a little H. indulgence while waiting. Good luck in deciding which purse you want.

Good luck, lucywife. You've come to the right thread. My first expensive H. purchase is also going to be a wallet. I like the Bearn. Is the Dogon the one that comes with a little change purse also? That's cute too! I hope you find your dream purse soon!

Thank you. Yes, it is a Dogon with a little change thingy :yes:
What color/leather combo do you like for your Bearn? My wallet is raisin/togo. I picked raisin because violet(in every tint) is a Feng Shui color for money :shame:

How interesting! I'm thinking of getting a red wallet with gold hardware because it reminds me of the lucky red envelopes I used to get on Chinese New Year. Now I have to think about getting something purple as well. Maybe a coin purse?

OK, a little Feng-Shui lesson :shame:
There are 9 basic colors and 5 elements Fire, Metal, Water, Wood, and Earth:
Red represents Future, Fame, and Luck(Fire element);
Pink-Relationships, Partnerships, and Marriage(very good color for a bedroom);
White-Creativity, Children, Feminine Energy(Metal element);
White/Grey/Black-Helpful People, Travel, Masculine Energy;
Black-Life'Journey, Career, Business Success(Water element);
Black, Blues, and Green-Knowledge, Wisdom, Education, Contemplation;
Green-Community, Family Life, Grandparents(Wood element);
Blue, Purple, Red-Wealth, Prosperity, Empowerment.(perfect colors for your wealth area in the house), gold and silver also will work.
Yellow reperesents Health, Unity, and Well Being, center of the house. (Earth element).

valencia, I love the look of the Gao. It really is an under
the radar bag. Whichever bag you get - remember it has to make
your heart sing. :)

Your Feng-Shui color chart is interesting. No wonder
I love the purples, blues, reds, and greens. ;)

P-B, As I said in your twilly thread - Congrats!!
It sounds like you had a great experience at H.
And no rude SA's. :) I love hearing that!!

CG, that Lindy is soooo gorgeous!!! I hope you
get it! :)

PB, I wanted to say congrats on this thread, as well! Goooo Twillys!

KB, that is awfully nice. I hope I get A Lindy, although I am still tentative about exactly what color I want. But I am a pink girl so when I saw the picture of the Rosy Lindy in Swift, I had a slight freak out session. You know when you are trying to be extra good and stick as much as possible to your plan? Then, out of nowhere you see a bag and it makes you want to put everything down and bolt for the nearest store (plan vanishing into thin air)? Yup, that's what I had:p
