oh i forgot to ask, what is sellier? i know that box is a kind of leather that hermes uses together with others like togo, clemence, chevre and swift. is it a particular shape or size of the kelly?

Yes, sellier is a particular Kelly shape. Kellys can be made with the seams on the outside (sellier) or the inside (retourne). Sellier Kellys look sharper, more structured, and more formal, while retourne Kellys look slouchier and more casual, especially in softer leathers like clemence. Both are gorgeous, but in my mind they really are two different bags.

In other words, you may want both! :D

dokugaku - Welcome and thanks for the advice. Gave it some thought last night and decided on the cassis epi zippy over the azap. I have a cerise zippy from a few years back and absolutely love it. Have also decided to put a limit on how much to spend on H accessories. Bought a yummy rouge Karo GM last week ($760) and felt that was about as high as I want to go on the accessories.

spinskybolt - Welcome!! Am curious. The cathedral in the background of the elva hsiao picture is gorgeous. Does your magazine say where the picture was taken?

P-B - Love your sense of humor.:laugh: Glad to know I am not the only BAP on board the H train.

Hello, fellow B.A.P. valencia :queen:. No you're not the only one aboard the H train!! I just wish I hopped on board sooner. You have the rouge Karo GM -- You're so lucky, that's exactly the one I want. May I make a suggestion for future H. accessories ? If you're not totally against eBay, maybe you can keep looking on there for deals. That way you can build your H. rainbow and still come within your stated outer limit. I think that's what I am going to do for about 50% of my accessories (and quite possibly all of the purses - lol).

Welcome, chanelbaby! Don't know the answer to your question, but hopefully someone will chime in soon.

dokugaku, doesn't it suck that we had like the coldest, snowiest winter in like 12 years??!! But I love Canada anyway.

P-B - Good suggestion on ebay. My problem is that a lot of the vetted H resellers want to have folks with considerable feedback and since I have never bought from ebay, I have none. Also, am a little scared of both ebay and PayPal so I keep chickening out.

Will try to post pics of the Karo later today.

Lastly, am totally jealous of you folks in Canada. Absolutely LOVE your country.

Oh, thanks for that tidbit!! I guess I will have the same problem then b/c I have never bought from eBay either. That blows! :crybaby:Would love to see pics of the Karo. (And I am American, just moved north to be with DH, who is Canadian. But, yes, it's a fantastic country!)

Valencia and P-B...perhaps you can make a few small purchases on ebay that are low risk. That way you can build up your scores! Also, I find that some sellers are quite reasonable and if you are serious and message them about your situation, they will consider you to be a genuine bidder. I hope this helps:balloon:

BTW, my score/#transactions is the all impressive number of FIVE...lol!

Thanks ChocoGrace. I am rethinking my path to Birkins now after reading the thread about really high quality fakes. I am so scared of wasting money on and having a fake in my possession. :hrmm: eBay is scary and it's sad that there's such good quality fakes. I will probably still buy some accessories on eBay (hard to find colours, discontinued styles), but will go the steady but slow route for the purses.

Actually know someone who purchased a very nice looking fake on ebay. While she was at a party showing it off, an acquaintance pulled her aside and let her know the color didn't seem quite right. Long story short, she took the bag to 2 different H stores and was told by both staff groups that the item was indeed fake. I felt so  for her as she used part of her inheritance $$$ to purchase the item. She tried to get ebay to work with her, but they stated it was an issue between buyer and seller and they were unable to assist.

CG, when I have the money to do it properly.
Sometime in the year 2012. ;) Just kidding. *LOL*
When I graduate and have a steady paycheck coming in.
I'll save a bit more and then start planning.

miss_white_lily, That's my favorite cadena. :)
Congrats on your agenda and keyring. :)

radhika, Congrats on the baby!! :)

valencia,
or wait for a color you love and may not be able to get w/ superior quality.
Were you referring to H here? For how much items cost, I'd like to
think all of the items are top quality. (Even if there are a few threads
on this board about an occasional problem.)
After re-reading this, I think you meant buying from resellers?
ETA: You got the Karo? Congrats!! I can't wait to see your
pics. :)

Kelly_Birkin - I probably should have worded that better. I was trying to say that I was dallying between the LV, which is less expensive but still pretty good quaiy and continuing to save for the raisin (deep purple) H azap, which if superior quality but is much more expensive but may not even exist. I have seen various colored H azaps but they are mostly in lighter colors. Since there are a number of raisin fans on the tPF, I am guessing if someone had an azap in raisin, there would be a few pics out there.

And now for the rouge Karo GM in chevre. Sorry the pic of the inside are sort of fuzzy, I am still getting used to our new didgital camera. Last thing - it's soft as butta and it holds a ton of stuff.

Thanks for the pics; the Karo is really lovely .

Hello, fellow B.A.P. valencia :queen:.

I'm half B.A.P. and also glad to see some fellows here!

P-B--there are some great authenticators here that can point you in the direction of good ebay sellers. I don't know if it will mean that the items are any cheaper, but you may be able to find what you want easier...

P-B and Valencia,

I am a recent member here ( 2006), but no so recent on ebay ( from 2001) ....and even older timer as an Hermes collector.(1992)

I'd like to point that there is NO "good quality fake", neither any "nice looking fake". It simply does not exist.

There are instead plenty of "dangerous fake" that eventually look like real to the newbie, but believe me there is No fake that will pass the inspection of a few experts here.... That is called experience and that is what you can rely on here, on this forum.

Trained eyed people work for you to authenticate any item listed on ebay or other sites... They work on authentication and they are also able to give you accurate news about working with such and such online seller.

This is the right place to get help if you wish to start buying online !

Good luck with your H hunting !
