I'm half B.A.P. and also glad to see some fellows here!

P-B--there are some great authenticators here that can point you in the direction of good ebay sellers. I don't know if it will mean that the items are any cheaper, but you may be able to find what you want easier...

Hello fellow B.A.P. doubtfulguest :queen:. Thanks for the advice! I just would hate to spend money on a fake. It makes me angry that people do things like that!! :cursing: And yes, you're right. A good condition item is not necessarily cheaper, so that's why I think I may as well be patient and just wait on a list.

Thanks perlerare! I guess I just got spooked b/c in that thread (about the dangerous fakes) two people who were H. experts got duped (though they caught on eventually). Also, my DH doesn't want me buying online either for this very reason, so my chances of buying online were slim to none anyway -- though I still think I can sneak some accessories by without him noticing (lol). But you make an excellent point about the approved resellers. Sticking to them is a great starting point if and when I want to go that route. That's why tPF is a great resource. You must have an amazing collection!!

valencia, sorry for misunderstanding what you wrote.
Your Karo is gorgeous. Congrats. :)

Speaking of fakes I was watching a TV shopping channel
today after work. The show was for perfume and cosmetics.
The model was carrying an obvious fake orange Birkin type of bag.

I got a Dooney catalog in the mail today. I realized
paying $300 and higher for a bag might be high-end,
but Hermes is high-end LUXURY and there is
a difference.

I was worried about the Alto leather being outsourced
to China - but when I did a google search it led me
right here to the purse forum - and the expertise (so right,
perlerare!) from the members. Infact, the question
I had about the Alto leathers was answered by one of
the regulars in the H forum.

This bag is so tempting me!!

According to the catalog it comes in small, medium,
and large sizes. I do have other Dooneys (made in USA and
Italy) But, I know in my heart I should save all my money
for H since it's so expensive.

Kelly_Birkin, don't do it!! Save for the H. You will be much happier in the long run. Unless it's a purse you need (and that colour to me, while pretty, doesn't seem like it's a "need" purse) save all your money for an H.!

^ I agree. Stay strong! We're here for you!

And, someone needs to tell me to stop buying smaller H-things! My only major bag purchase this year has been a Tod's bag, and I have sold of some of my other bags in an attempt to downsize and save money towards my first H-bag. In the last week, however, I have been very, very bad! I purchased the Kelly Double Tour and Clic Clac bracelets from the boutique, and won a Medor watch on eBay. The next time I feel an urge to buy something small, I will post here...so, please stop me! I keep thinking that this will help build my relationship with a SA, but I should really spread it out. I just got bitten pretty severely.

Help me stay strong too! :boxing:

P-B and SuLi - Thank you!! It is so refreshing
to not see enabling for enabling sake. :) I think
most can tell I like that Alto Dooney because it
reminds me of a Bolide. However, it's not a Bolide,
and I really should continue with my H bag goal. :)
It still is a cute bag...and I do have an Alto checkbook
cover and it wears like iron.
And truthfully, I can't afford this right now either.
Thank you, ladies!!! :)

SuLi, Keep saving for the BIG orange box!!
Although, I do like your 'smaller H things'
purchases. :)

^^ No the Alto is not a Bolide. Focus ... That's what we're here for. Just post in here whenever you get the urge. You ladies were the ones that convinved me that I do not "need" 3 Chanel flaps. You already have the checkbook, so now focus on the H.

SuLi, I think you should determine how many smaller H. things you need, then after that actively save for the bigger things. I know for me I want a Karo, a Bearn, and a two colour Herbag. After that all of my savings will go into my Birkin # 1 fund. Also, post in here when you feel the urge. We will dissuade you, though anything H. is still sweet!

Hi I'm new to the H!!! I live in Toronto, Canada. Just want to know is the list still open for a 35cm Birkin(any leather and hardware)?? and can I be put on the list by calling them??:confused1: Thanks.

Wow, so glad i found this thread. My name is Sarah, and i neeeeeeeeeeeed Hermes. I just can't decide whether to wait another 4 to 6 months and hopefully get a Picotin or whether to get some smaller items in the next few weeks. The way i will be able to hopefully afford a bag is with a terramundi money pot. The money goes in and doesn't come out till the pot is full and you have to break it. I bought my Luella Bartley bag with money from our first pot a couple of years ago. My DH and i save all our £2 coins in the pot. Last time we had about £880 in it and we have half each, also with these pots you are supposed to spend the money on good things you want not bills and suchlike. Its sort of a guilt free spend up. now this is the hard bit, I will also have to save some money on my own, i am terrible at saving. And do so want some orange boxes with lovely things inside. I do think that with my next pay cheque i might be able to get a twilly and scarf ring. So tempting. If i could be sure that an Evelyn or picotin was under £1000 I would probably try and save for one. However i have the feeling i will be getting some smaller items sooner rather than later:shrugs: Oooooh i just don't know. I have already posted about this a couple of times, sorry for going on about it to anybody thats already read my dilemma  I need help.......

Sarah, I love the idea of the terramundi pot I'm going to have and look and see if I can get one! My other half always leaves change lying around....it'd be better saving for me to get some treats :graucho:

I believe that the picotin is definitely around £1000 but think the evelyn will be more.

You have to think long term as to whether a few small H items are what will make you happy or if suffering a while longer and waiting will give you the one item you really dream of. I know for me I'd always go for the bag over any other item as it would be far more useful and if cared for would last a lifetime.

Not sure if you have much in the way of designer bags but have you even thought about parting company with some things that you have to fund the H bag you want?

Thanks for your reply mooks. I am an impulsive person and usually when i want something i can't wait. However i do feel i might be able to wait for Hermes, then again.....
I do have quite a collection of designer bags however the only one that would probably fetch enough to make it worthwhile selling is my Chanel and that one is the one i probably love the most. So selling is out of the question. I'll try and hang on and wait for a bag though, although i am very inclined to get an enamel bangle. Do you see my problem as soon as i make a decision i change my mind again straight away :confused1: Aghhhh.
Terramundi pots are great, they can take a while to fill up depending on what you choose to save. And as we are saving £2 coins it takes quite a while. Sometimes we seem to get nothing but £2 coins in our change then they seem to disapear off the face off the planet. I think it took us about 3 years to fill the pot last time. Its only been 2 years this time and it seems pretty full already, yet there's still room for more. Ho Hum.
I shall just have to live through you all on here at the moment and enjoy everyone elses purchases.

Just keep thinking that for every £200-£300 you might want to spend on a bracelet or whatever is money towards your bag, then once you have your bag you can buy all the other little trinkets you are craving.

I liked the idea that someone else posted on here. Print a picture off of the bag you aim to get and keep it in your wallet so when you feel like a splurge it will be there looking at you

^^ You know what I love about this thread? The whole financial discipline discussion when it comes to saving for an H bag. Nothing focuses the mind and the pocketbook like a coveted H item, it seems!
