Hermes Steve Bag

I don't have any photos of Tibet, but, it is more square than Steve, smaller, and has a wool/fabric strap that I remember as being kind of itchy. It's understated, like Steve, a good men's bag IMO, and is slightly less expensive.

There is a Steve weekender/travel bag. A nice style.

I think I like the size of the Steve bag. Can it fit a MacBook Pro 17"? I also love the weekender/travel bag but it's too steep for me. I think I'll work my way to the Steve bag for now -- even that is a real stretch!

That bag is such a thing of beauty... if only I could afford one of them. I know a SA in the Vancouver store who is very nice and friendly. Maybe it's time to get in touch with her again!

That is a beautiful colour for the Steve bag... although certainly would not be an everyday bag to wear.

Hi,

I saw Steve in a few colours available in the Hermes Takashimaya Singapore store. It looks smart for office work, or a very short weekend getaway bag.

I was told that it costs more than 10,000SGD, so I let it passed. A travel Birkin 50cm or 40cm HAC would be good for me.

Anyone saw anymore new models of Hermes men bags?

Hello everyone! I am going to New York in August and was wondering if anyone knows the exact price of a Steve bag plus the sales tax they charge in New York. Also as I'm from Canada, can you get exempted from paying the sales tax or get a tax refund? Another thing is, can one just go in the store and buy the bag or you have to order it, or would an SA in New York even sell it to you if you were not a regular customer there?

Oh, by the way, is it true that Hermes might be increasing their prices again by August 1st. I read it was a rumour but since they just had a price increase last February (I think), will this be another one? I heard it's supposed to be effective on August 1st?

Yes that is true. No one seems to know exactly how much and what items will be affected, including the SAs and SMs.

Can anyone comment on Hermes pre-sales customer service? I saw the Steve 38 as well as the Valise Etriviere in Berlin. I liked both bags and am curious which options are available for ordering them, specifically whether the Valise (which is only about 45x35 cm) can be ordered in a) Clemence to match the texture of the Steve, b) the Steve could be ordered in the darker-than-"Cafe" bitter chocolate brown color of the Valise, and c) whether either the Valise or both bags could be ordered with a Vert Anis colored lining. I have gotten conflicting answers from every shop I have contacted in Berlin, Hamburg, London, NYC, and Dallas. I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for a reply to an e-mail following a phone conversation with Joe in Charlotte, who does not seem conscientious enough to even confirm having received the e-mail, let alone respond.

I am quite disappointed in the rather lax handling of my request no less because it is concerning almost 10,000€ worth of merchandise. I had hoped to be able to make my decision to order this June since I was told that the stores only place orders twice a year and it can take up to 2 years to have an order fulfilled.

Since you all seem to have more experience with Hermes than I, is this even worth pursuing? I have the feeling that like many other retailers, that they just don't give a flip and are presenting a rather take-it-or-leave-it attitude which leaves a lot to be desired. Certainly not worth 10,000€!

Hi Michael, I know it can be frustrating waiting for word of whether a Special Order has been accepted.
The Steve comes in Ebene Clemence,that is a very dark brown. I am sure that I posted a picture that shows my Cafe Steve with my Ebene Birkin? Here it is again,just in case.

I have a few Special Orders that I am waiting to hear about. They total more than 10,000Euros and I do not feel the least impatient!
Many things factor into Special Orders,and simply wanting something is pretty low on the H decision list I imagine? Just because you haven't heard back yet doesn't mean they are ignoring you.
I have been waiting two months and I still believe that mine will be a go!
With Hermes you have to have patience!

I would try to order both bags with a Vert Anis interior. That sounds fantastic!

Oh yeah, does anybody know whether Wall Street H carries more men's bags than Madison Ave. H, or they both do?
