Thanks I mi ght order on of these, I am not sure whether to get a steve bag or either a hermes briefcase, not even sure whether they make one! The other possibility is a BV briefcase.

They also make a few beautiful briefcases and those would definitely fit 15" laptops. You can find pics of them here if you do a search. It depends if you want to have a strap for the shoulders or not. Some briefcases don't have them.

yes, i've been trying to find a H strap style leather bag that can fit a laptop. i think the best fit is with the Steve 38 (I've seen it labelled as 44 as well) but it is heavy even with NOTHING in it... i think if you travel a lot, it is not practical and will eventually weigh you down.

i currently use the BV laptop case and the leather is quite durable although the zip broke after 1 month use (they repaired it for free). i also just got the more casual looking H 24/24 last weekend and am in the process of "converting" it to a laptop case by placing a hard paper board at the bottom to see if it can support a laptop (the 24/24 Sikka leather is too soft with no support at the base)

I have just rung my local hermes london sloane street, they only do one mens briefcase which does not have a shoulder strap and costs £3400, only comes in black and brown. I am not sure the info given is correct.

No I don't think you have because I saw a small bag in VA that could work as a briefcase

I've talked with salespeople in at least 3 stores about what colors the Steve is available in. Two of the stores (Chicago and SCP) indicated that they were made in a wide variety of colors, while the salesperson at Beverly Hills stated that since it was mainly aimed at men, it was only available in neutral colors. Has anyone ever seen a Steve in a color other than a white, black, brown, or grey? I'd love to have one in dark green, though even vert anis would be nice.

I should add that in none of the stores did the SAs check any reference book or the computer to see the color availability, as I asked while paying for my other purchases. I'm inclined to trust the BH salesperson over the other two simply because BH gets so many more bags than the other two.
