Hi Corlandus:

Thanks for the lovely photo! I dropped by Hermes Vancouver yesterday and saw the black one for $8450 CDN + 13% tax. Is it true that Hermes items are bit cheaper in Canada?

Hi Corlandus:

Mind if I ask how much is your Steve bag. It's really hard to ask from the SA's in store by phone since they're only giving me a ballpark figure but they vary in responses. One time I phoned they said it's $3,000. The other time I phoned, it was $6,000. Now I called again, the SA who answered said it's $7,000.

Also, is this Clemence cafe leather?

Thanks

I don't know if this helps you (since you aren't in Europe and the real price may be different anyway, between countries), but it was 4000 euros (maybe 3950) the last time I saw it in H Bordeaux (Making it at least $6000 if the prices are supposed to be comparable between countries), and I'm pretty sure it Clemence. ;)

Beautiful bag too. I can't wait until I can drop that kind of dough. Not yet though...:p

Thanks for the information. It definitely is a beautiful bag and the only one that I have ever wanted (for now!). I saved for a long time that $3,000 based on the initial chat with an SA in NYC. So now there goes my dream bag. By the time I come up with $6,000, I'll probably have trouble justifying that purchase and the price has probably gone up again.

Oh well, I guess for now I'll just admire the bag from this site, maybe even make it a desktop wallpaper. I'm really glad for those guys in here who have them and thanks for the wonderful pics.

Hah, just my sentiments!! After saving for and buying several bigger items (not Hermes though), I thought long about whether I should save and wait (again) and get a big thing (after who knows how long), or just get nice smaller things along the way...and for now I think i've decided on the latter.

You never know though. One might pop up on ebay or in a second-hand shop. Never give up!!!

Thanks Pepper for the info. I saw the pictures of the bag and it was nicely laid out and very functional. It's nice that it has all pocket in all the right places.

That bag looks very delicious! I hope that someday I'll own one. I was talking to two girl friends about it and I was surprised with both of their responses especially for one friend who just bought a new $2,000 Chanel bag on a trip to LA. She said that most of people at work and our friends don't know about Hermes and wouldn't recognize it anyway so why would I want to pay such an exhorbitant amount for a man purse like that.

I said that I bought my H belt and tea set not because of my co-workers or friends but I'm buying it for me and no one has to know what it is or how much I paid for it (unless of course they want to donate to the H fund!). I'm sure most if not all of my friends or co-workers will not understand my thinking or reasons for buying anyway. They both agreed with me later on and even said that it's not like I'm borrowing money from anybody for this purchase. I guess that means go for it!

Thanks again for the wonderful pics... Now, how do I get a line of credit from a bank? Just kidding!

Ah, Ernskie, that is just it...you aren't buying the bag for anyone but yourself--that is exactly my attitude as well. My DH carries it to work and no one has the faintest idea what it is.

srq2009: I will attempt to save and make that big purchase. After all, it's the only bag that I want or will ever get if the prices of these items keep on going up. Although it would be nice to have the weekender bag too... but that's more of a dream.

Hey Pepper, I saw the vert olive version of the bag in the interactive site of Hermes. It's a very nice colour too although I'm not sure how practical it would be. I read in the other thread that you were talking about the Tibet. Do you have any pics of that? Sounds like it's a very expensive bag. Is it also a travel/weekender type of bag?

I don't have any photos of Tibet, but, it is more square than Steve, smaller, and has a wool/fabric strap that I remember as being kind of itchy. It's understated, like Steve, a good men's bag IMO, and is slightly less expensive.

There is a Steve weekender/travel bag. A nice style.
