diana, I don't have etoupe, but I have seen it and it's gorgeous. I have mocha. I live in New York and find the mocha very useful. I don't have en etoupe bag however.
Since you list your location as California, I am thinking that perhaps the etoupe would be more useful. The leather (Swift) is thinner, the color is lighter, and I think you can use the etoupe more in your location. I could see wearing with some dresses in the spring and it would not be out of place.
They will probably always make the mocha. I have seen them online at hermes.com before. With Hermes, I tend to grab what is available in my size if I think I will use it, so if I were you and really love the Jumping boot, I wouldn't let the etoupe slip by.
Also, other companies make nice dark brown boots. But I haven't seen anyone do etoupe color as well as Hermes.

Tamarind, thank you for your thoughts. I am definitely tempted by the etoupe but I am just worried that if I get the etoupe, I might still want the mocha later! Although what you said is true, I could probably find other nice boots in brown and etoupe is more unique. I am half tempted to order the etoupe from the online site, at least I would be able to return for a refund if I decide I do not like them. I am going to give it a few days to see how I feel. Would love to hear what other people think of the etoupe!

I have these in black, and wore them for the first time this season yesterday. This may conflict with others' opinions, so, for that I mean no disrespect, but, I feel that one's first pair of these would be best in brown or black. It's an expensive boot, a long-term investment, and I just think that while the other colors are beautiful, brown or black are more versatile, and less prone to marks that show wear (in particular, in comparison to etoupe). Also, even in a dark color, it's a very noticeable boot. My style is understated, but everyone notices these when I have them on. People I don't know in the hallway, in the elevator, comment on them. I like being under the radar, and wearing these sometimes pushes the limits of my comfort level. Just my personal preference/taste. They are gorgeous boots in any color.

I am loving the Land boots right now. they have black on usa hermes.com but was wondering if they come in any other colours?
would appreciate if anyone knows, tia!

I have been loving the Land boot, too, for several years now. They do them in different colors and leather finishes every year. I remember a distressed leather finish in the past. I like them in the black box they are doing this year - this boot can be a rugged look and the black box dresses it up a bit.

...and fleece lined throughout :tender:   :graucho:

Ok-I read thru the first 10 pages andcouldnt find the answer, so forgive me for asking (I'm sure again): how do these run? I'm an 8, but in designer shoes I usually go to an 8.5 because I have wide feet. TIA:smile1:

I think it's best to try the Jumping boots on in person if you can. I have heard of people being able to get their feet/calves in one pair but not another of the same size.
But if that is not possible, from my experience the boots run true to size. I have wide feet too (and narrow in the heel) and I wear my normal size (7 or 37). In some designer shoes with somewhat pointy toes I sometimes size up to 7.5 or 37.5. But in these boots I fit perfectly in my normal size.
What seems to a problem for some is the calf circumference and the height of the shaft. I had mine stretched 1/2 inch to tuck in jeans, but they were fine without stretching when I wore them with leggings and tights.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to think about the rest of your wardrobe and what you have that would go with each color. Ms piggy for example has a perfect wardrobe (from what I have seen) for the etoupe boots.

The mocha is definitely very versatile and easy to wear. And Pepper is right that black and brown are better at hiding dirt.
The boots do attract a lot of attention. I get stopped on the street a lot by people who don't know me.

That's great, thank you! I've got super skinny calves, so I think I should be ok there.

I'm going to give a call to the boutique, I really like the black box on the website, but I think I'm secretly hoping for some rouge:graucho:

For the Jumping, i would say please try them out in person. They are handmade and each pair is slightly different especially in terms of circumference. Also bear in mind, Etoupe is the only colour in Swift which is WAY more forgiving for those who have generous calves. I couldn't for my life fit into the Black/Mocha/RH box ones, no matter how much I try or love them. I do however have a Cafe Nancy boots (those have zips), so if you are to own only one pair of H boots, you may want to go with a darker colour for practicality. I find H boots in general well made. My Nancy boots went through a long rainy day and survived. To me, they are worth the money. :)

What leather are the Nancy boots made of?
