IS the color etoupe versatile? I have a pair put on hold for me right now. I've tried them and they are really nice but i thought a mocha one would be easier to match.
My wardrobe is made up mostly of black stuff.

I wear mostly black and initially was going to get the black boots. DH convinced me to get the Etoupe since it's an unusual color amongst the sea of black boots you see in NYC. I find myself wearing them with everything - great neutral! Now I want another pair, maybe Rouge H!

I have tried on both the regular and the Asian cut ones in Etoupe swift. The latter is about an inch shorter and much wider in circumference. I'm 165cm tall and whilst the wider circumference on the Asian cut is appreciated, I do prefer the height of the regular Jumping (more slender looking).

Thank you for the reply!:smile1:

My wardrobe is neutral like black, grey, beige, cream, which Etoupe goes well with (so much so I have 2 diff Etoupe bags). Having said, I do have a pair of dark brown H boots in Cafe and you have to like the Etoupe colour (some people don't). IMO, Etoupe, especially in Swift, is one of the best neutral H comes out with. Like what cayenne-pepper said, it stands out from the ubiquitous black boots.

You ladies are making me feel like I NEED the etoupe boots! The fact that the calf is a bit more forgiving in swift leather is sooooo tempting since every time I put on my rouge or black boots, I have to pray that I'm not bloated or chubby that day.

You need. :p I wish they do Jumping in Black swift one day.

thank you so much Tamarind for your response :smile1::smile1:

chincac, I was very careful the first year I got them, then became less so the longer I had them. I have two pairs in box calf and the leather seemed a little different in each. The mocha pair (in Jumping boot style) has thicker leather and seems more hardy. The black pair (in Bardigiano style -- the same thing but with plain buckle instead of Kelly lock) has thinner, softer leather even though they are both Box calf. I had them both stretched about 1/2 inch so that I could tuck in my jeans. Before that I only wore them with leggings and tights.
The mocha pair is still stiff, the black pair less so. I don't think they stretched that much, but it could be because i already had them stretched. I wouldn't mind if the mocha would stretch a bit more.
They both still look pretty new to me, with some barely noticeable scuffs at the back of the heel (where the bootjack touches it when I use it to remove the boot) and a tiny bit at the front. The black shows less but I think I wore them a bit less.
I don't wear them if it's raining or if I think it is going to rain that day. But I have been caught in light rain and have had to step in a small pile of snow a couple of times when it was unavoidable (just yesterday in fact). They held up very well.
I once saw a woman at the Madison Ave store wearing a very old pair of Jumping boots with her jeans tucked in. The color was lighter than mocha, kind of like a British tan. She told me she wore them every year in every kind of weather. Hers definitely showed wear and tear, but they looked wonderful. Seeing her boots made me feel OK to wear mine without worrying so much.

thank you Cayenne-pepper & ms piggy for the response.
My SA is on a look out for a Mocha pair for me now. If we can snatch on a mocha one, that wld be great.
Just worried abt the sizing and the stiffer/thicker leather now.

oh my. sounds contagious! :D

Hmm. I tried to order the lower (Asian market--I mean no offense, just don't know how to distinguish) Kelly boots a year ago and I was told that they were not available for order in the US. Is anyone ordering these in the US? If so, which boutique? Thanks.

Some of you have already seen this pic in my reveal, but I thought it would be ok to repost an action shot of my etoupe boots!

cayenne-pepper, you look absolutely gorgeous!! Your Jige is a beauty and stunning CDC, too!! This pic is dangerous :graucho: bc it's all I need to convince myself that I've got to have an etoupe one, as well. Hopefully my SA can locate a black one soon because I'm already working on mission #2 :p

If I could only get one pair should I get the etoupe or the mocha? Etoupe is available in my size now, store search and online do not have my size in the mocha so I would have to wait and hope one becomes available. I have a slight preference for mocha because i tend to like darker boots, but I just don't know if I would be able to get a pair? I do like the color of etoupe for a bag, I just don't know about a boot. I am very conflicted!

diana, I don't have etoupe, but I have seen it and it's gorgeous. I have mocha. I live in New York and find the mocha very useful. I don't have en etoupe bag however.
Since you list your location as California, I am thinking that perhaps the etoupe would be more useful. The leather (Swift) is thinner, the color is lighter, and I think you can use the etoupe more in your location. I could see wearing with some dresses in the spring and it would not be out of place.
They will probably always make the mocha. I have seen them online at hermes.com before. With Hermes, I tend to grab what is available in my size if I think I will use it, so if I were you and really love the Jumping boot, I wouldn't let the etoupe slip by.
Also, other companies make nice dark brown boots. But I haven't seen anyone do etoupe color as well as Hermes.
