Hermes Phone Orders

Interesting....I am wondering if the are implementing this policy due to complaints or cc fraud?? OR is it maybe just to keep the shelves stocked for walk in customers/local clientele. Last I was in my local H my SA and I were talking about the stock situation and she said Hermes is really pushing them to start fulfilling the needs of their local regular clients rather than the walk in tourists and passebys by doing things such as the lottery system and I guess this whole no phone order thing as well. I guess they want to keep their items to their local regular clients only so that means cultivating a relationship with one SA is becoming even more and more important.

Thank you Trish!!:hugs:I have been a client of my store for the last five years too!! My store is (I just checked online!!:p) 4k miles away:faint:A long plane ride!:laugh:I do send thank you notes too! And I think I have a good relationship, after reading that post I was ready to cry, to think I could not call to order something!:shucks:And I will see you soon on BIN/BAN island, just waiting for the packages to arrive!!:graucho:BTW I bought new trainers, and ready to workout!!:salute:

i was told for B/K, i have to show in person

Thanks CookieJar!:flowers:I am super bummed. Like I said its around an 8 hr flight to my store...:shucks:I am no longer looking for a B and not sure about a K for a while. As long as I can get other bags on my list I guess I will be ok. So sad!

 i know, my rowboat can't leave till fedex delivery from h.com gets here tomorrow  yeah, got new reebok zigs as well for all the jpg weight lifting and cardio we'll be doing....:graucho: i'm sure H boutiques have to be VERy careful for credit card theft/fraud is so damn rampant and they msut stay above reproach as far as Id theft or credit card fraud is concerned...that would be BAD for business :nogood:

I understand about the CC but they make you sign this form ahead of time so it seems that there is coverage.:shrugs:It seems I maybe on BAN/BIN island for a long time. I may need a cargo boat to get there!!

I ordered a GM, and 90 silk, and a KDT today all over the phone and read off my credit card number to my SA. The GM and the KDT she had to do a search for, and found them at other H's. However, I am going to my local H to pick them up, she isn't sending it to my home, maybe that is the difference?

So every other store is well into the 21st century, and H elects to go back to the 19th century? This IS nuts! I guess people who live miles away from a boutique are out of luck.

I called two more stores in the west coast and got the same "no phone orders from now on even for old customer" response. Your SA probably isn't informed yet or she was just taking down your card number and won't charge it until you get to the boutique to pick them up.,?

I know!! I wonder what will happen to people who can only do phone orders?! It's just not reasonable at all! And such an inconvenience.

I asked my SA about this and she replied that she could place an order for me as I was a customer (and had spoken with her in the store about the item) but one had to live in the city or have a long relationship with that store. But that was last week. Who knows what they're doing this week.

I can see Hermes point as it takes Sales Associates off the floor and not helping the customers who come in person but I do think Hermes needs to accommodate those of us who can't just pop in a store anytime we want. Their policy is just enabling the resellers who charge far more than retail.

And then there is the issue of calling around to find a particular item because your SA is not motivated enough to help you search. But that's another thread...
