Hermes Phone Orders

Houston told me today that they can no longer take phone orders for any LEATHER item (bags, belts, bracelets, whatever)...not sure if clic clacs, enamels, gold, etc is ok??
The SA actually looked me up in the system and even commented "Wow, you've bought quite a lot from Hermes". Yet after checking with her manager, it didn't seem to matter! It's getting insane. I'm sure all big companies have to deal with CC fraud...not everyone demands coming in person for each and every purchase, especially if you're an established client. If my regular SAs have to start enforcing this, I guess it's the end of Hermes for me. My closest boutique is 2 hours away! Not worth the drive to see empty shelves.
Sigh. I just went back and re-read this whole thread. I suppose I will be buying only Banane Taipei bags from now on, since there's no way I'll get to an actual store more than once a year.
I'm getting so worked up here!
Are they going to take down their website then??? Because I'm not sure what is so different ordering over the phone vs ordering from a website????

:censor:Look at the bright side,we will save more and by the time we have the chance to go to Hermes store we have sufficient money to splurge on crocs bags.
Is this a US only policy? And what about those of us who have SOs pending? I can't actually purchase my SO whenever the heck it arrives, because it's leather?!!? 
It seems Hermes is trying to draw a bright line around boutiques- only sales to walk-in customers and all other sales (phone, email, internet) are diverted to the website.
Hard to believe in this economy that any brick and mortar retail store can turn away busines whether it comes through the door, over the phone or via email.

Sweet Mike and Myra! There are going to be some very very *Insert finger pointing at me* angry people. I just wonder if they are crazy...how many of us spend tons of money from afar? Purse I understand, I have a SO coming in too...not sure how that will work. I have to take an 8 hour plane ride to pick mine up!!!

I will too, now that you mention it! I guess that's the answer...fly to where you have to! The things we have to do. I feel like Hermes is the big hand in the sky and I'm their marionette, having to move however they dictate!
i feel outraged, sad, and sick at the same time... i just have no words :cry::censor:
if they're saying no to purseinsanity who is a bigger buyer than i will ever be, i guess there's no sense in me even trying

I feel the same way too. On the brighter side I should have plenty of money to get some celine classic boxs and to finally buy an LV Coppola bag!!
I will not stop shopping!! I shall continue to spend!!!

My SO just came in and my SA called me today and I told her to just swipe my card first because I want to pay for it first to make sure I get it, then I will pick it up this weekend, my SA told me that she can't run my credit card, I HAVE TO go in in person and pay for it!!
She then told me about no more phone order and 1 birkin / 1 Kelly policy, which my SO will count as 1 of the bags I can get per year.......
