Hermes Phone Orders

I'm quite disappointed since I called several stores in the East coast and was told that corporate has come down on no phone orders for new customers.

As such, even we've intelligence from fellow TPFers on inventory, we can no longer call the store and order unless we've bought in person.

Why is there such a stupid policy ? has there been a lot of credit card fraud with phone orders ?

There was another thread on this topic. This really sucks. I called my local store to see if they had any belts in and one question she had for me was if Im in the area so it appears this new rule is being enforced.

Found a few stores that are willing to take phone orders across states. Seattle, Houston, Dallas and Florida Naples. So happy !!

that is awesome!

when i was looking for a scarf in dec, it was not in H system, i ended up getting it at a non corporate store....

anytime i have been in bal harbour or pb, i hear them tell peeps non-stop they must be there to sign card but do remember esp in bal harbour they get a lot of foreigners - in fact when i was there last i think i was the only english speaking american at the whole mall!! well not really a mall but yunno what i mean! i think this is yet another hermes mystery....i am sure for very established VIP clients they let this slide but who knows!!

btw, the SA's are sooooo helpful at bal harbour!!!

last week i needed instant gratification and called las vegas store on a lark bc it is open late, they would not send me anything knowing i was not in state!! well they didn't have it anyway (bolduc twilly charms) but who knows! this week i have decided that H should make twillys just a tad bit bigger, like the size of the LV ones!!

Now I know why Bal Harbour won't answer my call yesterday. The phone kept ringing but no one picked one so like you said, the SAs must be swamped with tourists. I should give them a ring to see if they will accept out of state phone orders. Forget about Vegas, I went to all three and they told me the same policy but luckily I was there in the Bellagio new store in person and they are willing to take my orders on the phone going forward. However, they are going to charge me washington sales tax rather than Nevada which is 1.4% higher if they need to ship to my house. It may still be worth it if I can't find it in other stores but given the amount of tourists they have, I can see why they will enforce the no phone orders policy since they don't even have enough to satisfy walk-in customers. Twilly inventory is dead and my SA told me that it takes more time to make a twilly than a regular print scarf due to the workmanship as it is sewn by hand. All the stores I visited don't have any twillies and I'm wanting a pair so badly for my GP.

The one time I called Bal Harbour inquiring about CDCs, the first thing they asked me was "Are you local?" And they emphasized that I need to come to the store to make the purchase... I don't know if they let this slide once you are a regular customer and in their system, but at the time of my phone call, I had never purchased anything from them before.

I wonder any store especially those one in europe or uk or us still taking email order?

I am dying for Kelly and unable to track down any in Hong Kong .

thanks all.
Unless you have a relationship with an SA in Europe there is no way they will take an email order IMO. Especially not for a Kelly.

Good luck for your search though!

True, there is no way! In the best case, some stores might let you know if they have anything available but nothing more than that. In this case too they will not ship outside E.U.

I've been on ban island and only recently checked with my SA about ordering some items by email. Sadly, I was told that as a new corporate policy, H won't accept orders by phone/email. I was shocked and disappointed by this news as I usually shop by phone/email. I don't understand why H makes purchasing by a genuine customer so difficult and yet the resellers seem to have no problem getting new stock. I just don't understand....ok rant over...

Just got a call from my SA in NYC. Seems like the policy is with effect from today, no more phone orders. Anyone has SA in NYC, can kindly confirm this?

^Does this apply even if you are a pre-existing client at the boutique who has ordered bags by phone and email in the past???????
