even though i was there at 6am and one of the first 100 to get into the sale I didn't end up buying very much.
Also in line, I had to mediate between two french ladies who were directly in front of me and two Japanese ladies directly behind me who barely spoke English. What happened was that the daughter of the Japanese lady behind me joined her about 45-1 hour after her mother had qued up and the French Ladies were very upset and vocal about it and called security. The daughter had gone to grab food and talk to the Staff and did not realize that she should have que up just to show she was there at the same time as her mom. My mother too had joined me about 30 minutes after I arrived and the two Ladies in front of me seemed to be annoyed but did not say anything ( I had asked them and others around me if it was ok if my mother joined me and explained that my mother wasn't feeling physically well and was running behind - everyone behind me said ok except these the two ladies in front of me who pretended to not hear me). When scuffle began the ladies were yellin quite a lot in English and French at the Japanese ladies, and so the Japanese ladies behind me asked me to help them since they spoke limited English and I think that since the mother let my mother join me in line I should support the same for her. At one point the lady in front of me was pointing her finger very close to our faces (she was telling me that I and my mother deserve to go in the back of the line too ) as I was trying to calm her down and ask if she could let the daughter of lady behind me join her elderly mother and that we weren't a group of people cutting, rather a mom and daughter joining our significant others and that we were all buying together anyways. I told her I understood its not very fair when people cut but I think should look at this specific situation and let it go to avoid conflict. After 5 minutes of back and forth the main lady yelling told me she did not care and kept saying "Security Security" in both french and english. Security came over she explained to him the situation in french, and he looks at me and I go " I am sorry Sir, this is just a daughter joining her mother situation, we we will not allow anyone else to join us. It is still early (7am) we do not want conflict , please Sir" . He then looked at the ladies who called him over and shrugged and walked away. It was quite awkward standing in line sandwhich between the two groups for the next 2 hours. The japanese daughter was in tears the whole two hours from the hostility, and I kept telling her it was going to be ok and to not let it get to her with my limited japanese.
I totally get that cutting is not cool and people are very sensitive about it since everyone is waiting so early in the morning. I just felt like it didn't need to be that intense when I saw groups of other people cutting and no one said anything. I know next time to just have everyone possibly in my group to que up at the same time and then have one person go get coffee or food and come back and take turns going to the bathroom.
Anyways I am very sorry for the long story, but hopefully this solidifies what everyone have been saying to any future Hermes Sale goers : Have everyone que up at the same time to avoid any hostilities!
There was no bracelet or accessories section, instead it was belts. The shoe section was beyond crazy and I spent wayyy too much time there. I think almost 1 hour trying to get 6 pairs of shoes to try on. I put most of the shoes back and ended up with only 3 solid things : Hermes Lorena Boots (sale: 400 Euros, Retail is 1200 USD) , Lavender Fingerless Kelly Gloves (sale: 250 Euros , Retail is 800 USD) and a beautiful large Navy Wool Hat that looks very Maison Michel like (235 Euros, Retail ?? - haven't seen it sold anywhere but from the quality I think it is well over $800 USD)
My mother picked up the max should could in the scarf section with 5 90x90cm scarves (190Euros), 3 twillies (90 Euros) and she also got a cotton throw (200 Euros) for her couch.
Btw Oran sandals were about 233-255 Euros, I regret putting a pair of them back ( I wanted the flat version not the kitten heel style)
For all the work that first morning of this Sale, I ended with very few items as I realized I really wanted to save my money for a Birkin and Herbag so I didn't go all crazy.
I saw your post on your Instgram, I'm following you! [emoji3]
