[eQUOTE="bobamilkttt, post: 30373978, member: 388660"]I am already looking at flights! I want to use my miles for the next trip so I have to book far in advance for the best deal.
I heard the French national sale in January starts on the second weds of Jan, unless it is after the 12th, which it isn't in 2017. So the national sale should start Jan 11th. I wonder if Hermes will follow the first day of the national sale like they did this month or do it later.
Tentatively flying back to Paris Jan 10th then :][/QUOTE]
be sure to get a changeable ticket. The date of the beginning of the French sale period is set by law but Hermes doesn't confirm their sale dates until closer to the time. I would give Hermes customer service in France a call in a few months to ask them when they know. This year the January sale started a week into the official French period.

I'm sure someone will start a January 2017 Hermes sale thread when we know more. I will keep an eye out and post something as soon as I know.

With the way £ is plummeting the sale is unlikely to be such a good deal for me next year. I will add this to my long list of grievances against people who voted for Brexit.

I rang Hermes customer service in Paris last week, they said the first day of the sale is 22 June. They said they weren't sure yet if the sale would last 3 or 4 days. Best selection (and longest lines!) are the first day. I will be getting in line at about 6 am on the first day, if there are any other early birds I would love to hear from you!

Can I ask once you are in the door, what is the best line to line up first? looks like 90cm scarves line is the longest....so line up for that one first?
jewellery? Sorry for the questions, it will be my first time to the sale January 2017 and need to plan this out!

Hi I haven't called Hermès HQ in Paris yet to find out the date of the January sale. I was planning on calling on October but who knows they might know now if you call them. The soldes dates are set by French law but no guarantee of when within the permitted period Hermès will choose to do their sale.

My advice would be to do 90 cm silk scarves first as there is a lot of interest in these and selection does diminish as the sale goes on. They probably will have jewellery in January, if you are interested in that I would do it early (after scarves) as queues can be long.

I may be decorating a new home in the next couple of years and would love to decorate around Hermès scarves in frames (I've seen it done and it can be stunning). So I will be hitting the 90 cm scarves first with an eye to scarves that have nice colours for decorating and would look good framed.

Thanks David!
So, 90cm scarves is one line....cashmere and larger scarves is another?
How do you figure out once you enter which line is which? You go in and look at the signs then decide to line up ?
I'm also confused on the limit. Some ppl say 10 90cm per person...some same 5?
Any limit on bracelets/shoes/ Large scarves or the cashmere ones?

Sorry again for the questions. My husband will not be coming with me (will never stand in lines) so I need to attack this Solo.

When you clear the coat check you are held in a hallway until 9 am and then people are let in. Immediately to your left is an area with men's ties and scarves, homewares, gloves, and jewellery (January) or belts (June). There is a slow queue for belts/jewellery, no queues for the other stuff here. If you keep walking past this first area (follow the crowd as most people go straight to the scarves) you come to a much larger room. Here there are two scarf counters immediately on the left as you enter the room (the first one you encounter is for 90 cm square pure silk and the second one for all other ladies scarves), with many racks of ready to wear in the middle of the room, counters with shirts and jumpers along the side of the room and shoe counters in the back. There are separate queues for the two scarf counters, no other queues in this room. No guarantee they won't change the layout but this is how it was the last two times.

You are only allowed 20 minutes to make your selections at each scarf counter. The guards tell people time is running out, clear out one group and then let the next group go to the counter to make their selections. If you are interested in 90 cm silk scarves my strong advice is to do that counter first--it attracts the longest lines and the selection does diminish (though I hit it first in both June and January and had wide choice).

On limits, I think they may change this as the sale goes on but in June I was allowed 10 of the 90 cm silk scarves, 10 neckties and I think there was a limit of 3 on the other scarves. Not sure about limits on other stuff. The limits are strictly enforced (at least they were for me, I had eleven ties and they made me put one back).

All going well I will be at the January sale so maybe we can meet up.

Thank you, this info is so helpful! I would love to know the dates as well since I'm thinking about planning a trip - any info you get would be greatly appreciated. :flowers:

Hi everyone,
I will be going to London on the first week of January. I am hoping the Hermes sale will be the week after so I can take the train and stay in Paris for 3 days. Flights prices from NYC are pretty good right now but I don't want to make any flight arrangements until I can know for certain if I will be going to Paris or not!

Keeping my fingers crossed! It will be great to meet some of you there! I love my sample sales here in NYC. I heard Hermes sometimes has a sale in Long Island but I've never been to that one.

David,

Thank you so much for the intelligence! Very helpful. I am planning my trip to Pairs in January targeting this sale. It will be my first time, but sadly by myself. I usually travel with my DH. If you find out about the dates, would love to know that. Thanks.

I rang Hermes in Paris today and they said that the exact date of the January 2017 sale hasn't been set yet (it would likely be set in November). So the sale will be within the state mandated period but I wouldn't book tickets yet.

It will be my first time and DH won't accompany me either, so don't worry. I'm also waiting to confirm dates prior to booking. But a good chance like the last 2 years, it will be a week after the official winter paris sales so January 18?
