not nationality but residency
doesn't that happen anyway?

It's priority for local residents, but some 'tourists' seem stay for quite a while. Lots of H customers have multiple passports/citizenship and homes, H doesn't seem to care until they need to or it's brought to their attention.

A longterm London customer (of whatever nationality) will always be given priority to someone flying in to London (of whatever nationality) with the sole aim of securing a bag. Most don't anyway since London is 20% VAT and in Paris (non-Euro) customers can get some money back.

I don't think people realise how busy London H stores are currently. It's hard enough just to see a bag/leather specialist and most wish-lists are quietly forgotten about unless there's a request for a HAC 50 or Travel Bolide.

Agree Paper tiger - I have never seen the Hermes stores as busy as they are currently. So many people looking for leather appts are simply told to go away and come back as the queue is full. Stock is also super low right now (unless you want twillies of which there are drawers full!). I still remember during covid when NBS had 3 twillies for sale in the whole store....

Is it really true that in London bags are allocated by a central team? That’s what my SA told me. Though I’m struggling to believe that when I see the same people being offered two bags in a year.
I think that there IS a central team whose job it is to allocate bags based on the wishlist but whether or not a SA has any influence is a bit of a mystery.

Thanks for your response. Do you think I should change the boutique I shop at? I’m thinking of moving to Selfridges since I hear such good things about it. With my current SA I’ve gotten one quota and a Picotin- but so far my second quota eludes me. It’s been more than 16 months…

I really don’t know, I’m sorry. I waited 20 months for my first and only quota bag as well. Perhaps this is the norm now?

I also hear murmurings of a 6 months gap before one quota bag offer being accepted and being able to place another wish. I’m not sure whether this is true or not as I haven’t yet been able to go to try to place another wish.

Do you like your SA and enjoy shopping with them? The reality is that you may have to wait another 16+ months if you change where you shop and start afresh.

Yes I do like me SA they’re, friendly and super helpful. I guess my only option is patience!
