Lol22177 post #662 in the thread 'Current bag quota' expresses it very well.
The wisdom is not all mine.
carrie8 even suggested 'it should be a sticky in big FONT'
Note the inclusion of 'other people in your store'.
Hmmm thanks dear. So looking at the hierarchy of things, an SA needs an SM to approve a bag offer, and the SM approves strong profiles yes? Doesn’t it all go back to the basics of the Hermes game of spending across categories to build a strong profile? I’m very confused. How is this UK system different? When you say “we do things better in the UK”, wherein lies the difference?

Hi everyone I’ve been on this journey for close to 2 years now and I’m running out of patience. Brought a B30 from a reputable London reseller as I was tired of waiting for almost 3x the store price… but hey what can I do?? it seems impossible right now.

I do want to go in and update my list because I no longer need a Noir B30 and I would rather let someone who wants it have a chance meaning my list will be renewed so that only means longer waiting time.

I first did my wish at NBS the store was constantly always extremely busy. Loads of people waiting and this is extremely time consuming.

So I thought let me just try another store.

Now I have updated my wish at CP I did notice you can only wish for B or a K now not both. In my opinion the staff are a lot more friendly..

The atmosphere is nice and it's not as hectic as NBS.

I have a healthy spend history but I'm unable to get anyone's contact and im honestly not the harassing type LOL

I'm very specific about what I want and that just makes things worse.

I do go in like once a month and I Only buy things I Like I would never accept a bag I Dont want.

I did speak to a lovely SA and she did tell me the stock has been extremely low for B lately.

Anyone score at CP recently?

I also did try my luck in Paris and all I was offered was a bolide that was completely not my style but I kindly declined but still brought other items I wanted.

When you say you’ve been “unable to get anyone’s contact at CP”, do you mean no-one’s proactively offered their cards, or you’ve asked and no-one’s given their info? I’d be surprised at the latter; I’ve always had positive experience at CP and they seem to have no problem sharing their email addresses with clients, whether new or not.

On the plus side though, it doesn’t seem like CP wishlist offers depend on SA relationship (or even spend), so if that’s what you’re worried about, don’t be  Out of interest, what bag specs are you hoping for?

Can you please help to demystify things then @WhiteBus? Would love to tap on your wisdom on how to navigate the Hermes non-game/wishlist system here in the UK. And don’t get me wrong. I’m not a troublemaker. I’m genuinely curious.

On my end, I love collecting beautiful bits and bobs. I curate my collection and “play the Hermes game” on my own terms.
There is no 'game' nor no winning formula.
Just keep buying what you love and remember its just shopping.

For what it’s worth, I have an acquaintance who was in London earlier this year, dropped 40k pound at New Bond, got a Kelly (don’t know specific specs), in the span of two weeks.

Personally I think it can be done either way, and everyone should do whatever makes the most sense to them!

What is always true imo is 1) you are the one shopping and parting with your money, so what makes you happy should always be the most important, 2) there’s always some luck and timing involved; things that are entirely out of your control. So it’s no use being too obsessed - will only cause you unhappiness. Yeah it’s easier said than done, but do try to relax and be patient! 3) purchase what you love regardless of the bag is really the only way to ensure that you can enjoy those purchases 100%, and at the H price point that’s pretty important (of course if you have infinite pocket depth feel free to ignore me ;) )

ETA: also imo, for a city with multiple boutiques, even if there is one store that is supposedly “easier”, if that were truly the case and word gets around, then over time it will all even out because there’s no difficult barrier stopping others going to the “easy” store and making the supply and demand reach a new equilibrium. If you can hop over to another store easily, so can everyone else.

Hi thanks for insight. I absolutely agree with Pt 2. Being obsessed drives people nuts: Opening multiple accounts, prespending more than what is actually required and the list goes on. What is important is for us to enjoy the journey and appreciate the artisans' great work and also to appreciate other fine things in life.

I haven't asked for anyone's contact because I dont want them to be annoyed or feel like who are you? I've just met you LOL

I will continue to try and build a relationship at CP

I will politely ask as it will make life easier when stock has arrived.

I've seen people in the queue in Harrods kicking up a fuss to be seen. This could never be me

So I've decided to make a wish at CP
Not everything I want is in stock when I do go in.

I meet someone different almost everytime but one thing I can say it has been pleasant every time at that store.

On the other side of things I'm hearing that doesn't help when trying to score a QB if you see someone different everytime is this true?

I'm hoping for a B30 in etain I know this will be hard or B25s in dark pinks or orange colours in Ghw

I see. If you like working with a certain SA just ask for their contact info, I’m sure they’ll be happy to share! Don’t overthink it.

For non-bag items, if what you’re looking for is not in stock, when you’re in the store they can either place an online order for you or put your name down for that item if they’re expecting it (just no ETA). For the latter, they’ll email you when the item comes in as they get a notification on their phone.

As for whether not having an SA relationship lessens your chances of a QB - as I and some others have said before, the “relationship” doesn’t seem to play a part in the wishlist fulfilment process (at least not at CP and NBS).

If you meet a nice SA at CP whom you feel comfortable with, just say, "May I contact you in future to arrange for my next visit?". And take it from there, eventually make your wishes known, ask if you can be remembered for a list of things and keep in touch. Assuming you want to become an established, happy Hermes customer, it is better to have a home store and one main SA to work with long term.
