Hermes boutiques in London

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

They have collective and individual targets but they do not work on commission basis in the UK, as confirmed by my SA. I believe this is the same in France.
Oh they don’t earn commission? I was under the impression that they do. My CP and NBS SAs would nudge me on certain categories which reportedly earn higher commissions in other parts the world eg Asia & the states. e.g. would you like to customise a watch or footwear. Would you like to order some home decor (furniture and tableware). Could also be the case that the SAs want to offer more exclusive offerings. Maybe it’s really not commission based.

So right.
I doubt there is any form of employment where targets of some kind or other are not involved these days. Knowledge of commission is a grubby way to ingratiate oneself with a SA with a view to a quota bag offer.
We do things differently here.

just remember we do things differently in the UK
as the SAs are not commission-driven,
the need to fawn and 'develop a relationship' with potential high-spending clients is lessened
The SA don’t need to fawn, I just think maybe NBS is too busy with too many clients or something I don’t know but my issue is how do you build a relationship with an SA if you don’t have one and no offers. Everyone claiming they are so busy, I am there spending my money so I don’t believe I should beg for a relationship or contact details hence my comment that I may try a smaller store.

I second the idea to try a smaller store. Much better atmosphere & service (in my experience), and what they don’t have they’re happy to order for you. Inventory (vs the flagship) might be a concern for some but personally I value the shopping experience a lot more. Plus, while NBS has more stock, it also has much tougher competition!

Exactly this is what I need

Hello everyone, so I am about to start the Hermes game and I was wondering which store in the uk would I find an SA that’s friendly and snobbish like the Selfridges one(was there in December and left angry). Looking forward to your suggestions.

If you found an SA like that in Selfridges in December, then you have answered your own question!
- or does your prose need correcting?

By the way, we don't play the Hermes game in the Uk.
Contrary to Mrs Levinson extolling the virtues of her home country, we do things better in the UK.

Speaking as someone who knows something about how luxury sales work in the UK (I am in the field) I can explain a little as to why why they would be nudging you towards certain categories.
Most SA in UK luxury boutiques do not (as previously stated ) work on individual commission However the team or the store WILL be given a stretched target to achieve in order to receive a bonus at the end of the month which will then be shared equally amongst the team members (The idea is to to work as one for the good of the brand and in order to discourage shark like behaviour and pushy sales techniques which in turn lead to more exchanges/refunds and less repeat customers).
There will most likely also be certain catagories that the team are encouraged by HQ to 'push' usually this is items that are harder to sell due to price point or sometimes it can be due to a store ordering items that are proving to be a 'slow seller' and therefore in order to not end up in the bad books of HQ by being in the red (having a deficit) in the quarters accounts within said category the team are encouraged by the SM to 'push' them a little or remind clients of what is available outside the easy sellers.
Lets be frank..
Hermes leather-goods,shoes and scarves sell themselves the rest wouldn't be as easy or shift in such large volumes.

Can you please help to demystify things then @WhiteBus? Would love to tap on your wisdom on how to navigate the Hermes non-game/wishlist system here in the UK. And don’t get me wrong. I’m not a troublemaker. I’m genuinely curious.

On my end, I love collecting beautiful bits and bobs. I curate my collection and “play the Hermes game” on my own terms.

Hi everyone. Would anyone mind sharing their recent experience on getting a wash bag in NBS? For example, how long was the wait?
I put down my wish back in December and since then I have been doing shopping regularly. I believe my prespend is pretty healthy. However, my wish list is going to expire this month and I have heard nothing so far... I am really worried that renewing my wishlist would mean that I will be put back to the bottom of the queue so I am wondering what's everyone's experience here? Any thoughts and insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you :blush::blush::blush:

Oh yes, I meant not snobbish! I just would love to start my Hermes journey with a SA/store that’s friendly and welcoming.

I have waited for 20 months and my prespend is okay, and still waiting... Renewed 3 times

Lol22177 post #662 in the thread 'Current bag quota' expresses it very well.
The wisdom is not all mine.
carrie8 even suggested 'it should be a sticky in big FONT'
Note the inclusion of 'other people in your store'.

Don’t make a “strategy” or “plan of attack”— just buy what you like, be respectful and kind to your SA (treat them like a peer) and other people in your store and most importantly be patient. Focusing on “spend” just makes you buy stuff you don’t need tbh- a strong profile only gets you approved for a bag by the manager, a good relationship gets you a bag offer from your SA.
