Hi, please don’t be offended with my thoughts. You have only been a H customer since Feb 2023, which is only 5 months. There are many customers who have been long term customers, spent more than £5k and still waiting. I have read about some people receiving bags with minimal spend in little time etc but I do feel that’s not the norm. I have a long term relationship, and I have made clear on this forum that for some reason I can never get a Constance but do receive a B offer. Buy only what you truly love and don’t worry about prespend etc. Wishlists are open for a year so it could potentially take that long depending on how many people are in the queue for the same bag you have wishlisted.
Hi, none taken! So I have also spent 4-5K with the same SA at the same store. If I include the online spending, then that’s about 13-15K in total. (Assuming the SA is right about “store staff are not responsible for BKC allocations, it’s a separate team in Paris that determines that”, so I presume Paris will look at my account’s total spending…)

Interestingly, once I hit the 4-5K mark with the same SA, then magically there’s one bag delivery that day and offered that to me. (The bag is also about 4-5K.)

However, in the following visit, with the same SA, a customer in front of me was checking out a Lindy, and passed on that. Then they offered it to me. I asked, “really? No spending necessary?” She said, “yes I told you we don’t do pre-spending system here.”

So I really don’t know how it works at Hermes London anymore…

Not sure what is happening with the stock in the UK and Europe. I just returned from my holiday in the US to visit family. I walked into a store I was able to get a Chypre in 47 for hubbs , they didn’t have in the store but the sa I met was able to check for expected deliveries and even ordered from a different store shipped to us and I also asked for a mini Evelyn I was offered one immediately which I accepted. I have been to NBS on numerous occasions and have not been able to get neither the Chypre nor the mini Evelyn. I have a wish list at NBS but no SA. I keep getting same response that the stock is low. I think the US has more stock or less clients not sure which.
That’s why I have always thought that Europe’s system is the most opaque and hardest to crack. In the US and Asia, it’s VERY VERY clear that there’s a pre-spending system. The ratio depends on how popular your bag is and what are you spending on. eg I “heard” that men’s clothes count more as they are less popular. Small leather goods don’t count as pre-spending in some Asian countries. Therefore in the US and Asia, assuming you get a “normal” SA, then you probably should know when you should expect a bag…

Is this at CP? At Harrods I was once told also that a team in Paris does the allocations, but at NBS they said they have their own team to do so. Then at Selfridges some SAs said to their clients “I’ll get you a bag by February” implying that they have a say. No idea about RE.

May I ask which bag “magically appeared” on the day once you hit 4-5k spend?

Quite disheartening to hear, to be honest, given I’ve been waiting for over 20 months for a first quota bag from NBS with quite a big spend at this point.

I had a rather awkward conversation with my SA the last time I saw her. I was wearing my Evelyne 29 that I had managed to buy from the H website and she complimented my bag and asked where I got it from “because I know I haven’t offered you any bags”. I was a bit taken aback because I’ve always been open about pieces I want but if I’m not being offered anything from the store then I’m going to grab it online if I am lucky enough to be able to do so. If this is a game, then I am finding this hard because I just want to shop and get items that I would like. I will always try to get them from the store first but if everything I ask for is always out of stock then I can’t win this alleged game.
I totally agree. Would prefer to buy it from the SA in store but sometimes online store has more stock than the physical store.

However if I were you, and I heard the statement “I haven’t offered you any bags.” I would say, “yes then when are you going to offer any bags? I have been visiting you XXX months and I still haven’t seen got anything. But I just randomly go on the website and I just got it right away.”

Sorry would prefer to stay incognito in case my Hermes SA is here :)

What I have heard is that CP and Sloane have separate teams doing BKC allocations (separate to the sales floor staff, but might not necessarily be in Parks indeed).

Harrods and Selfridges are concession stores, so the store manager has a say on who gets BKC.

You don’t need an appointment, just turn up and sign in to the virtual queue. Weekdays are best, especially in the morning. You can also try calling Customer Service in advance to check for stock (non-bags) and they’ll be able to tell you which store has the items you’re looking for so you can plan your visit accordingly. Be warned though that stock moves quickly!

If you’re not in the market for a Kelly anytime soon, why not buy the muffler and the sneakers online? Non-quota bags wise, I’ve seen people offered these at both CP and NBS, though I get the impression that CP is more walk-in friendly when it comes to bag offers. I also just prefer the atmosphere and service at CP a lot more than NBS

One option to consider also is to try either 1) both NBS and Selfridges or 2) both CP and Harrods in one visit to London, as these pairs of stores are within walking distance of each other (2) more than 1) though).
Wonder why you think NBS has better vibes than CP?

Think you mean why I think CP has better vibes than NBS rather than the other way around? If so, it’s because I haven’t had very positive experience at NBS while CP is a lot more pleasant. Just an example: At NBS, a few years ago, when I talked to an SA about certain colours to put in the wishlist, and probably pronounced Etain not entirely correctly, he very condescendingly raised his voice, said “it’s Etaaaaaaain!” and looked annoyed :annoyed:

CP (and Selfridges) has always been delightful, and I’ve seen a few walk-ins get offered bags at both locations. Once at CP I overheard a convo between a lady and the SA she was paired with, who was offering her a black Picotin 18. The lady asked if this was the only Pico 18 to choose from, and the SA said “yes ma’am, in fact my colleague was also in the stock room at the same time looking for a Pico 18 for another customer, and I almost had to wrestle this bag from her to bring to you!“ (big grin included).

I quite agree with you , been shopping at NBS for over 2 years with different SAs cos I don’t have one, anytime I ask for their details it’s always one lame reason or not. I went to the US the SA that attended to me was so lovely the reception was great and she offered me her contact details before I left and two two later she sent me pics of more shoes I was after. She told me to send details of items I want and that she will ensure she notifies me when available.

I do believe I will move to CP as I need that experience I got in the US. It’s not all about the QB, but the offer to assist and source what you want where possible which is currently not available at NBS

just remember we do things differently in the UK
as the SAs are not commission-driven,
the need to fawn and 'develop a relationship' with potential high-spending clients is lessened
