Hermes boutiques in London

I think it really depends on whether the store has stocks available. I was in London as a traveller on a Thu 2 weeks ago. The first store I went to was CP because I was offered an evelyn 29 in black GHW there last year May. I arrived at 10.30am, the leather appointment queue was not long. I waited only 10 minutes but when it was my turn, the SA told me that stocks (bags) arrived yesterday & was all sold out.

I then walk to Harrods, approached the person with an i-pad (for appointment), there was an SA who stand next to her who straight away show me from the phone the 2 bags which they have left with. As those 2 are not what I was looking for, so I went to NBS instead.

While I was waiting for my leather appointment in NBS, I saw mini evelyn, navy picotin 18 in cargo were offered to other customers. And when it is my turn, after 2 hours of waiting with scarfs & cosmetics already waiting at the cash counter, I asked for a Lindy 26 or 30, SA replied that they do not have Lindy but I was offered a picotin 22 in etupe GHW. So I think it really depends on whether the store have stock on that very day.
Thank you for sharing your story! It’s great that you finally got the bag.

I will try at the other boutiques in the city as I don’t have high hopes for Hermes Healthrow and I love to see their display window

Do they not ask you at the door of each store what specifically you are looking for? Whether bags or anything else in other departments, it would certainly save eveyone a lot of time and disappointment. They do ask me and I generally have appointments made with my SAs mainly for RTW/shoes or for collections.
Yes, they are. I told them that I was looking for small bag and they put down my name on the IPad. After waiting for a while, they came to confirm the appointment with me again.

You’re right. They should tell me at the beginning that no bag so it would save me a lot of time. While I was waiting, I saw a lot of customers were offered bags. I think they do have bags but for locals only.

Yes I agree. I think they do reserve bags mainly for regular customers, but for other departments I believe they are always happy to assist.

DH reminded me that I was offered the then new Geta in etoupe at CP. I didn’t ask for this ; I looked at casually to be polite; and I refused politely). I don’t usually touch or try on an offered bag unless I’m seriously interested. This was early last year, when there were no lines or leather appts per se. The SA had engaged DH in a conversation about ALange &Soehne (he saw that DH was wearing onewhile I wandered around. I’m a RTW person, but we had just been upstairs and had not seen much of interest. This was in the side room to the left of the entrance where there was a couch and coffee table. This was my first time in this store. IMO only, and solely based on my limited experience, if I visited a store as a one time tourist; seemed intent only on a bag; and thought browsing for other treasures was a waste of time, I don’t think I would get offered much. I don’t really buy much but I am open to considering new things. I do think SAs can recognize this. What I also thought was interesting was that the same geta was display only at Harrods at that time.

They ask at stand alone stores, not department stores. At CP, I told them I want bags, so I join the leather appointment. At NBS, I say I want bags, scarf & cosmetics, so I have leather, cosmetics & I kind of just approach the SA at the scarf session while I was queuing for the cosmetic appointment. I also went to Selfidges as I wanted to check whether the ring has my size, there, they group all appointments together.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted some advice on the RE store / wish list bags… I recently changed jobs and now work near Bank, I’ve never been close to a Hermes store before during a week days so popped into the store to pick up at twilly for my work bag (a Garden Party purchased post lockdown) and a perfume for my husband’s birthday. I met a super lovely SA and we had a nice chat. I enquired about how the wish list works and ended up putting one down for a K25, which is my dream bag!

I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing in the meantime to better my chances of getting this fulfilled? I’ll probably need to buy a few birthday presents / small things over the next few months which I’ll be popping in for anyway but should I try and find the same SA (and how do you even do that??) when I go? Do I need to try and buy particular things?

I’d also love to buy a Lindy 30 sometime but was wondering if I should ask for that when I go in / would it affect my wish list bag if I do?

Thank you so much!

For anyone shopping at NBS, how have recent experiences been with stock?

I’ve been with my SA for over 1.5 years now and she’s always willing to try to source items and has even put my name down on the system for shoes the store is expecting delivery of but I never end up getting anything. Everything I ask for across RTW, homeware, shoes, silk and leather has been out of stock for the past 3+ months. Also still waiting for my first QB for 18 months. Whilst I’m reading that stock levels are improving worldwide, I’m not feeling like they are!

I feel the same as you

Been shopping at NBS for 1.5/2 years and have a lovely SA that is always pleasant and helpful when I go, but they seem really really low on stock. Loads of stuff I ask to look at (fashion jewellery, hats, shoes, belts, bags etc.) they don't seem to have. All the fashion jewellery cupboards look empty. I've been asking for a picotin 18 for 6/7 months but they keep saying production is focusing on other items (not picotins), though I think I've read of this thread that they have been available in NBS (and other stores) and being offered.

Wondering if all the London shops are just super busy with summer visitors and all the stock just goes straight away????? They just can't hold stuff and why would they I guess if they can sell that day.

Really hoping we both get our QBs soon x

Thanks for chipping in with your experience! It’s a quiet thread in London so I wasn’t sure what’s going on in the UK comparatively.

Thanks very much for your response! It’s strange that the same boutique is saying different things.. do you always make an appointment with your SA when you go to CP? When I mentioned making an appointment with my SA they doubled down that my SA is a leather specialist only and not RTW (which is what I was looking for) and I mentioned last summer my SA helped me to buy a jacket and shoes but they said the system has changed ‍♀️ who knows with these things - your response has been very helpful thank you!
I went into CP last week and the leather SA told me the same when I asked about belts. They said I would need to make a separate appointment upstairs. Same when I asked about make up and fragrances although they did say that if I knew what I wanted they would be able to get it for me (perfume and lipstick). Just seems to make building a relationship more tricky. I am new to CP so perhaps if you had established a relationship with an SA there already then it would be different.

I've been buying from Hermes for over 15yrs but from online and at different stores and it's only just recently that I discovered this 'game' I need to play so have settled on CP. I am hoping that once I have bought a few more items from the SA who served me, i will be buy non-leather items from them too otherwise I have no idea how I would build a relationship.
