So I decided to try my luck today as I was in London for my birthday to see whether I would be able to score a mini Lindy.

I arrived at the Bond Street store at 10:52am and was greeted by the hostess who kindly advised that the leather department was already full, and that they had no stock at that point and was waiting for a delivery. She asked me to come back later and try again.

I then popped into Selfridges to try my luck there, and they confirmed that they had no bags today and were not expecting to receive anything.

I returned to the Bond Street store at 11:52am and the hostess responded that this was a good time to come back, however, they had still not received their expected delivery. I waited upstairs for around an hour/hour and 30 minutes for the delivery to arrive. Unfortunately, they did not receive any mini Lindys today (they had received some yesterday and these were sold out). I was offered a garden party 30 in biscuit, herbag 31 in red, and in the loop bag in purple. All of which I declined.

I guess it was not meant to be; but what I did learn was that regardless of whether you queue first thing, there is no guarantee that the stock will arrive at that time so it's not always necessary to go first thing especially if they turn you away and ask for you to come back. Of the leather appointments, there were only two people in front of me so I presume the first batch of clients decided to leave. I also found that the SAs seemed a lot more friendly in Bond Street and I'm not sure when I will get the chance to go back on a weekday to repeat this process. Maybe I will try my luck next time in Paris.

On the plus side, I was able to amend my wish slightly, however, I am not expecting this wish to be granted since I don't visit the store regularly enough and don't have a regular SA there anymore.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you on this occasion. It was pretty much the same sort of experience I got during my hunt in London.

I'm glad you managed to wait for the delivery though, to see if any had arrived that day. But it does feel like it is down to luck, and how often you're able to pop by in a single day on a weekday. As you said, there's a strong possibility they haven't had any deliveries before opening, but at the same time, there's also the possibility that when the deliveries do arrive, there's already a high number of people with leather appointments and the prime bags go before it's your turn.

Did they mention what colours the Mini Lindy had come in the day before?

Hopefully you will either get better luck in Paris, or on your next sojourn to London. In the meantime however, I can only recommend stalking the H website, as some TPFers have had some luck in snagging one from the website.

Wishing you all the best in getting your dream bag soon!

I didn’t ask about the colours they received the day before, but they mentioned that they received a couple and that they expected some in yesterday’s delivery so I was just unlucky.

I noticed over the Christmas period that there was a lot of drops on the website and I was able to get the Chypre sandals, 1 rodeo PM and 1 rodeo pegase. I also saw a red mini Lindy a couple of weeks ago but this was snapped up before I could add to cart.

Thank you, fingers crossed I will be able to add one soon :)

Happy new year! Has anyone had any luck buying a picotin 18 in black or gold this year? I went to NBS today and the SA said they hadn’t had a delivery in 2 days…

On another note, what do people think about the service at NBS? I never seem to have a good experience whenever I go, everything from the atmosphere to the helpfulness of the SAs is always off. I’ve even had an SA process my order wrong so it ended being cancelled weeks later and no one followed up with me. I find that the SAs there can be quite cold which can make shopping rather unpleasant. Really considering switching stores to selfridges, only issue is that the stock there is really poor.

Feeling quite conflicted as I’ve just renewed my wish again and was hoping to have it fulfilled this year :frown:.

I Shopped at NBS from the 1990's until my wonderful SA moved on and it became less pleasure more stress shopping there.
I now shop at Selfridges and I love the team and my SA but I have to confess the lack of inventory is a downer and I have brought things like Calvi and Scarves from online.
I'd probably move to Cadogan but I'd rarely get to the store.
Edited to add..
Since lockdown inventory seems to be low everywhere in London and I suspect Brexit and less tourists spending large sums in the UK has diverted much of the really good stock to Europe.

Agree with you on Selfridges staff, everyone I’ve ever met there has been so helpful but waiting 6 months to see dinning wear before I purchase is quite frustrating and agree on the Brexit point.

I’ll think I will check out Cadogan Place, only issue is I usually steer clear of that area / Harrods, as it’s far too hectic for me. Hopefully I can go when the store is quiet.

Good luck!
I find Cadogan and Sloane st generally much less hectic than Oxford St and Old Bond st.
We last went in Cadogan on a Saturday and I was surprised by how calm it felt tbh

Hello everyone,

I shopped at Bond street in October with an SA and spent around £5000 in 2 visits but since then the SA doesn’t answer my messages on WhatsApp. I am visiting again London in March should I keep shopping with the same SA or should I change to another SA? Or is it better to get a new SA in Selfridges? I don’t mind spending more money but I want to ensure that I get a B/K.

I think it’s safe to say that nothing can ‘ensure that you get a B/K’.
I was going to say the same thing.
Not to mention that for non regular clients there is now the wishlist system in place @Jay06 you would be better off trying the Paris lottery if a Quota bag is all you want.
5k with no disrespect is not a sizeable spend in the world of Hermes and changing stores to one with a friendlier team but lower inventory won't help you with your desired outcome imho

Hi I wanted some advice as I don’t know if its just me or if others have had a similar experience. I usually shop at the NBS store and have renewed my wish perhaps 3 times (Ive been on the wish list for 2 years) for a B/K 25, every time I make contact with my SA its always the same answer, leather supply is short, there’s no guarantee…..blah blah…my wish has expired so I’m wondering if I should go elsewhere or if this is the norm in London….any advice will be appreciated

Are you shopping for non leather items while you wait?
